a few months ago I decided I was tired of looking at the plain jane gray purse hanging in my closet. i’ve had this purse since college — it’s taken me roughly 6 years to repurpose it, but that’s not the point…

the point is that it is repurposed. now :]

there is a pocket on one side of the purse, so on the opposite side I sewed a Gussy ruffle. then at the last minute i added a Gussy tag. and now that i have new tags i want to cut off this old one, sew on a new one, and cherish this little baby as if it was my first. because it was my first. because i said so.

would you just stop whatever else you’re doing and look at these ruffles?

I love the mix of colors in this print: peach, sorbet pink, grass green, tomato red, sunshine yellow.

I also love the new found sass in this repurposed purse…

What do you have laying around that you want to fix up?
And, what are you waiting for?

We’ve got some winners!

There are two winners of the Big Picture Scrapbooking giveaway:
1. Angela @ Princess Diaries
2. Nicole @ The Rockstar Mommy Chronicles

And one winner from Gus’s Birthday Giveaway: Deborah Howell.

email me, girls!

PS. I must share: yesterday was such a productive day! I finished a bunch of laptop bags, updated my to-do list, trained my new assistant {yayy!}, and am now looking at a USPS box filled with Gussy packages. please, please pray the rest of the week is just as productive. I am trying to set some serious goals for myself/the business but can’t do this alone… xo.

LOVE the purse makeover, Gussy! The fabric is beautiful. . . makes me wish that I did have a purse lying around asking for a makeover! I may just have to go find one at a garage sale or something :]

It turned out great. I love when I do things like that and bring new life back to something that I have grown tired of.

I bought some terribly boring curtains the other day (we moved months ago and our bedroom windows are still naked). I keep thinking that a Gussy-like ruffle on them would be lovely. Not sure if the boy would really love that though. Time shall tell…the curtains are this afternoons project.
