Hmm…best baby advice for baby #2, just make sure in those first months after new baby has arrived, spend time every single day cuddling with your first born and making him feel super special too, as I find they tend to feel a bit neglected whether you want that to happen or not! Good luck and I sure hope you have a successful Vbac!

Sitting here feeding my 3 month old as I type, I would say mt best advice would be “Let it be.” You’ll be exhausted and emotional (especially with two littles!) but try to enjoy the ride…even at 3:00 in the morning. :-)

Advice?? Know that you are enough. You are doing everything you can in the moment you are in. Too many times moms feel like they are not enough and too much at the same time. Don’t let those thoughts drag you down. God put us where we are for a reason. It’s our destiny. You were meant to be where you are ‘for a time such as this.’

Have fun with baby 2! Kids are so awesome.

Congratulations! My best baby advice is to take it easy on yourself and rest when you can. Being a mom is so tough and we can out so much pressure on ourselves to do things “right” but I feel when you trust your motherly instincts you can’t go wrong. You will make mistakes along the way, every parent does, but forgiving yourself and moving forward positively is huge. Babies are such a blessing. Best wishes on this new journey!

My best advice, is go with your gut, do what is best for you and your family, and don’t worry too much about what other moms are doing. You know yourself and your children best, and we all do things a little bit differently, and that’s okay! Be confident in your mothering skills!

Don’t get caught up in the ideal of what having 2 kids should look like in your mind. It will be what it should for your family! Don’t compare yourself to other Moms and how they do things. Be confident in how you and your husband have decided to parent these two amazing people. It goes by so quickly…slow down and enjoy the ride! We are given 18 years to raise our children till they are able to be out, make those years count.

Also wanted to add, make sure you and your husband are connecting and making time for each other. It gets a bit harder the more children you add…we have 7 so, believe me I know! The laundry and dishes can wait…take that time to connect with your husband. He will still be there once the kids are grown and out! Hugs!

Be realistic in your goals for the day and enjoy every second. It will speed by fast… I am already a grandma, and realize how fast time went. I had 3 kids under 4, and sometimes my goal was for everyone to get out of their pi’s! If you expect too much, especially at the beginning, you will often feel defeated. God bless you and your growing family!

I meant to say at the end that we love babies over here! Lol. I have 2 boys so far and I will say that because my oldest was 2 right when my second was born he had a hard time adjusting to sharing mommy but it got better. You never realize how much love you have to spread around until you start having multiple children. Add in sibling love and life gets so much more sweet.

As a mother and a grand-mother, I encourage you to make the most of each moment, get your rest, and do not feel guilty about what you cannot accomplish. Receive God’s abundant grace and give yourself, your husband, and your son much grace as you find your way through this new season of adding another little one to your family. Parenting is a learning process and children are so precious! Someday, Lord willing, you will have the blessing of having adult children to enjoy after many years of investing in their lives. It is so worthwhile! My daughter is awaiting the arrival of their 5th daughter after a 5 year break. Their 4th little girl is adopted from Ethiopia, which was a fulfillment of a childhood dream. She and her husband are looking forward with joy to this new baby, despite a serious illness he was diagnosed with just prior to learning that this new baby was on the way! They are an amazing couple and I am so blessed to see how well they are doing, totally dependent on God for His provision for their family in this season of their lives. God bless you as you welcome your precious one little one! I just discovered Modern Sewciety and heard you on the podcast! Well done!

    Prayer is awesome.
Seriously, most of my mommy advice comes down to just that – there’re so many different opinions, ways to do things, “right” and “wrong” ways, and panic moments, and frustrating moments, and “I’m not sure we’ll all be still alive to tell the tale when Daddy gets home” moments too, but PRAYER. (and I’m preaching to myself here, too). God is the perfect parent, and now matter what, He loves our babes more than we ever could (and sometimes prayer helps with the sleep schedule, and sometimes it helps the mommy make it through no sleep schedule) – hugs to you, dear one!!!!

Ohhhhh, this year. Ohhhh, specifically these last Ohhhhh, this year. Ohhhh, specifically these last 3 months. I’ve had more anxiety than ever, and it’s seriously putting me on my knees in prayer —almost daily. My mind and chest aren’t unfamiliar of the attacks, but the grip it’s had on me since September has been so strong. The attacks are painful. But... Worship music has been one of my main healers. 🎶I know God is close to the broken-hearted (Psalm 34:18), and singing this truth really soothes me. Social media has been a big trigger for anxiety for me. I don’t want to “miss out on my life”, which is why I’ve hugely stepped back in posting and scrolling.

One song in particular comes to mind:

“We step into Freedom.
We step into all you have for us.” -Bethel Music & Jenn Johnson

There IS freedom from the anxiety attacks. For me: music, scripture, eating healthy, vitamins, rest, crying, prayer, honesty — these things help tremendously. Also getting up and MOVING when my anxiety sits on me like a boulder, that helps too. 🖤

Another soothing truth is from the end of Psalm 34:19 — “many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the lord delivers him of them all.”

Seriously. Thank you lord. Thank you for music and for rest and for the words in your book. I need them. I need You. I need Your freedom. I trust you’ll deliver me.

We piled in the car this morning for a nature walk We piled in the car this morning for a nature walk. When I finally walked out and sat down, they shouted, “THE QUEEN! EVERYBODY CHEER FOR THE QUEEN!” (yes, they really call me that...☺️💓☺️)

I brought our basket of mittens and gloves and hats. The older two brought RC cars. Bauer the dog came along; we had a wonderful time on our walk.

The afternoon was harder, but overall the day was sandwiched between two really sweet time slots.

Bedtime tonight was wonderful. We read two chapters from our read aloud and Max lost another baby tooth.

This job I have, it really wears me down AND fills me up. It’s a constant take away AND fill up. Even when the moments feel so fitful, I know the story is rich.

What has kept you and your home busy as of late? F What has kept you and your home busy as of late? For us, it’s this…

The sound of Julia Robert’s calming voice is playing in the background of our playroom. Yesterday we finished another read aloud, Charlotte’s Web, so today my children are watching the movie. Knowing in-detail the lessons they are learning, along with reading books together, definitely adds to the joy of motherhood; the joy of teaching my children and being with them for so many hours each day. We experience so much together. Even when things feel chaotic at home, when I can’t call something by the correct name they still long to be near me and work alongside me. Tired has been a dear companion to me for the last seven years, but my children are gentle with their responses.

It’s come to my realization there’s plenty of It’s come to my realization there’s plenty of time these days to craft a letter when I wash dishes, take my kids on a walk, or take care of our garden. All that silence, it makes my internal monologue even louder 🤣.

Many times we are out & about in the neighborhood and I think, “oh the flowers surrounding your porch are lovely!” Or, “wow” (to the elderly man) “you have such a great smile, thanks for sharing it with us!” Wouldn’t it be great to jot that down in a card and send it through the mail as well?

We are always in need of community & kind words! 🌷💬

I remember many years ago, when nearly pregnant with another baby and our personal finances were THE PITS, my best friend came over with $500 cash. Just to bless us. She also included a personal note. Of course, I’ve always known how special personal notes are, but this card really meant so much.

And so I’ve decided as the year-end nears: wouldn’t it be nice to send a letter a week for the final 20 weeks we have left in 2020. Me thinks so 🙂.

Community & kind words: I’m coming for you!

PS. wanna join me in sending 20 cards by Dec. 31?
