Filed Under: for fun, what I wore

so, a wee bit ago my friend jacqui and i decided to swap products. i sent her a Gussy wristlet + headband, she sent me 2 cowl necklaces {in orchid + blush}. and something weird happened — i can’t take them off. just like the cowl scarf i received from prairieologie. if i’m not wearing one i’m wearing the other!

i’m not sure what my problem is, but if something looks warm + cozy then i immediately flock to it. i think it’s this chilly minnesotan weather! {yes, i’ll blame that.}

other things i’m obsessed with lately: coffee, slippers, bauer {and his new haircut —wink!}, cooking yummy dinners, red nail polish, working in the dining or living room so i can stare at our christmas tree.

but i suppose these aren’t bad things to be take flock to, right? someone tell me this isn’t that big of a problem ;]

what things are you obsessed with? do tell!

PS. i’m linking up with Linds for What I Wore Wednesday!

The cowl scarf is really pretty, do I get it. I always throw on a scarf right before I walk out my door, it like completes the outfit. But I don’t really wear them around the house just because I feel like my one year old is obsessed with them, that and long necklaces. And that’s really nice that you’ve been working where you can see your tree, soak in the holiday spirit!

Gussy, have you discovered http://www.ravelry.com yet? I know you’re a knitter and crocheted now and that community shares a lot of amazing patterns by yarn type, skill level, etc. I’m working on some Mary Jane slippers for my Etsy shop launch in January and found patterns design by entrepreneurs that I can credit and link to in my shop info. If your looking for your next project it’s a great resource!

This winter I’m drawn to hot chocolate with whipped cream. It’s become a problem. I’m allowed one mug a day and when the whip cream is gone that’s it, no running out to buy more!

    Definitely not a problem!
I actually saw your cowl and really liked it. So, when I got a visa gift card I went and bought one in orchid! They are so cute and I bet I will have the same problem you do… I always tend to want to wear things like scarves every single day after I get them. This will be no different!

I have a love for all things cozy, too! My current loves are: homemade moustache mug, my Christmas tree, looking at haircut ideas on Pinterest while drinking hot chocolate, NL Christmas Vacation, baking, washing my cozy scarf in Swavitel’s new lavender vanilla fabric softener (it smells soooo good all day). : ) Love this time of year!

Christmas time always brings out my go to addictions: egg nog, peppermint creamer, Queen Anne’s chocolate covered cherries (sinful, i know) and knitting. I love warm scarves around my neck, it just makes me feel cozy. Like you my spark for crocheting was ignited. I picked up a super cute pattern off Etsy.

I’m feeling like a tired lady. But sunshine & fresh air are good companions to keep around.

We came home and I made “the best dinner ever”. Max specifically announced, “it’s so great you’re launching new meals to the world”. LOL— kids! 🤣👏🏻💓
How about a little Wednesday night introduction? 😘Social media sure has changed over the years and we don’t always SEE who we’re following or remember WHY we’re following certain accounts.

So, hello! As you can gather, my name is Maggie ;)

I started writing online (almost 13 years ago) to share the handmade products I was sewing. My shop was called Gussy Sews. ✂️👛I love the community that has grown from sewing & sharing online.

Let’s FFW to today: Zack and I live in Michigan and have four young children (2 boys & 2 girls). I slowly left the handmade industry and walked right into homemaking, homeschooling, and encouraging women through writing. 💕📝

Motherhood has been very hard on me. (And not just because of how close in age our four children are.) It’s been hard for me because I fought for years to accept that *it’s supposed to be hard*.

I mean, how do you effectively teach another person to know and love the Lord? Bc that’s how I think of motherhood: a calling to nurture others by studying the One who nurtures me. So I gotta make the first move: study the Bible and seek Him first. As my friend Autumn reminded me, vulnerability births transformation.

(I’ve had to be really vulnerable!)

So, yes motherhood has fully transformed me. But even more so, Christ has fully transformed me. My list of “all that He’s done for me” is off to a beautifully long start.

Something else I want you to know about me: I stalled for years before acknowledging I have anxiety and depression. It’s hard to talk about this because of course this isn’t forever “my hardship”, but rather because acknowledging this means to heal I have to work through some really difficult things. ✨

But my friend Jesus walks alongside me. He’s already done a mighty work in my heart, including helping me process my anger in healthier ways. I’ve also adopted a heart for sisterhood, mothering, and Titus 2 mentorship.

Sometimes our greatest losses are our greatest gains? That’s what I’m clinging to!

How about you? Tell me something about yourself so I can get to know you on a deeper heart level. 🖤🖤
