Filed Under: for fun, the pup, Zack

…we could get a puppy! Last October, almost 1 year ago already {gosh that went by fast}, we adopted Mister Bauer. We were waiting for a house with a yard, and a job where I was working from home, and then we could adopt a pup. I remember that special Saturday, the day Zack and I drove out to the pet store where the rescue shelter we adopted Bauer was meeting for the afternoon. We watched Bauer play with his brothers and mom, and when I picked him up it’s almost like Bauer selected us to be his new family.

We love Bauer soooooooo so so much. Some times — OK, most of the time — I feel like he’s really a little boy, not a doggie. Bauer is Mr. Personality, with his little whimper noises {how he talks to us} and how he plays catch with himself, how he LOVES the doggie that lives in the flat upstairs. He puts his paw on us when he wants something {most of the time —wink!} and he always finds his way onto our bed sometime between 5am-7am. I talked about that yesterday, hah!

It’s so fun to look back at old posts and see how Bauer has grown — some of my favorite posts include this one on our {new} daily routine; oh, how BIG Bauer looks on our new living room rug, our first Christmas with a puppy, and his 1st trip to the groomer ;]

And then there was the day I made him a bow-tie for his 1st birthday. So handsome, that pup!

Having Bauer around all day is like having your best pal with you, at all times! Bauer knows all the little sounds of our day-to-day, like when the girls come over in the morning, when I turn off my desk lamp or close my macbook {work is OVER, yay!}, when we open the fridge, or unlock the back door {time to play outside}. He’s just so smart & spunky. We love that little feller!

Of course, going for a walk is his favorite! And it’s actually been very therapeutic to have Bauer a part of our family. Getting outside and taking long walks around our neighborhood — or the lake, has been so good. It’s so important to have lots of fresh air, especially when it’s so easy to keep my nose glued to my to-do list. I think our favorite thing to do on the weekends is go for walks and explore new areas, or to sit in the backyard and chitchat while Bauer plays with his toys.

Ohhhhhhh, how I love Bauer! :]

And I think everyone needs a cute doggie in their life!
xoxo

Bauer is just the sweetest thing. We have two yellow labs and they just make life so much fun. :-) I’m always talking to them and asking them questions and my husband always says “do you think they are going to answer you back”! You never know. :-)

Oh, what a cutie! I can’t wait until we move into an apartment that allows pets. Every family needs a furry companion. :)

I agree, everyone should have a furbaby! The stress from my “real” job would go home with me, no matter how hard I tried to shake it. I love my hubby and his company, but getting my dog really helped to lift my spirits.

Congrats on the milestone… Bauer looks just like a dog named Buttons that my Granny used to have when I was little. :) I love seeing his adventures!

Hey! I for sure thought I’ve commented on your site before but now that I’m thinking about it – I think I only have commented via twitter! How naughty am I?! 1st of all – your dogs name rocks my socks off – all I can think about is 24 and how my husband wanted to name our 1st son Bauer bc of that show. He would be totally jealous if I told him your dogs name. 2nd – You have inspired me to learn the art of SEWING! It’s true. Wish me luck! 3rd – I’m stopping by from LMM for your amazing give away!!!
