I’m so tickled to be sharing a little summer fun while Maggie is taking a little trip.  Here are a few fun things I love about summer…

1.  Iced Coffee

2. Backyard play dates with my little Penelope Lane (she’s three) making sidewalk chalk art, blowing bubbles and swimming.

3.  I love the sweet sounds of summer.  Lawn mowers, the splish-splash of kids playing in pools, laughter, birds, backyard barbecue parties.  It all just sounds so lovely and fresh.

4.  I love making trips to the Farmers Market to grab fresh fruit and veggies and then making yummy things with them.

5. I love wearing sunglasses and sandals in the summer.  I just pretend I’m going to the beach everyday when I wear them. :)

Thanks so much for having me Maggie!

What sweet sounds of summer do you love? What sounds bring you your favorite memories? Hearing the lawn mower start up in the spring is always exciting (lol), and another fav. of mine is the ice-cream truck! Hearing that little white vehicle putter down the street as a kid was soooo fun. Share your memories with us below ~ pretty please.

I LOVE iced coffee and sunglasses and sandals!

I could totally go without hearing the sound of the lawnmower. Worst sound to me!

I know it sounds crazy, but the definitive timbre of soap operas on afternoon t.v. are one of those sounds-of-summer for me. When I was little and would go to play with different cousins, my aunts would always have them on. I didn’t know what they were, but I knew they had a specific tone and hazy glow. Today when I came in from running errands, I had left the t.v. on, and a soap was on: it really took me back.

I’m loving all these summer-infused blog posts coming from the northern hemisphere, it’s keeping me warm here in the Australian winter! Summer sounds for me include the hum of the cicadas in the trees in the afternoon and the beach soundtrack of crashing waves, squeals of fun and hungry seagulls.
