detroit meet up maggie whitley

This past weekend felt like a wonderful, constant, giant, HOORAY!

On Saturday morning, Rebecca and I co-hosted a Detroit metro meetup, and we had such a great group of gals join us! :) It was wonderful to gather with so many, and would you believe we chatted for over three hours? As the snow fell outside, we sipped lattes and devoured pastries on the inside. We met at Atomic Coffee and talked about business and conferences and crafting and craft kits and moving across the country and babies and world-wide travel, definitely stop in to Atomic Coffee if you find yourself in the Royal Oak area :)

On Sunday morning, our family visited a new church. And we absolutely loooved the service, the message, the children’s ministry programs, and the kindness so genuinely outstretched to our family. Definitely can’t wait to go back. (Yes!)

A few other great things worth noting from the weekend: an amazing afternoon nap, good meals served around our family table, house projects completed, washing newborn baby bedding, organizing closets, opening a new bottle of shampoo & conditioner (wink), buying more chocolate, a freshly bathed pup, and decorating our second bathroom.

How about two more HOORAY moments? Zack starts a new job later this week, and on Saturday we’re celebrating Maxwell turning THREE!

How was your weekend? Are you reading anything great? Did anything happen that left you feeling inspired? Tell me about a HOORAY moment :)

Our forecasted weather is supposed to be gorgeous all week long — I’m so happy! :) And I think I hear the birds singing?

I attended the Maker’s Summit in Greenville, SC this weekend! It was ah-mazing! It was so incredible to be surrounded by so many like-minded creatives (my first experience with anything like it!). I came home so inspired to jump in feet first and grow my business.

The Maker’s Collective sponsors the event. Here is a link with info. from this year’s conference. http://www.makerscollective.org/themakerssummit.

I can’t say enough good things about it! I was a total fan-girl of the speaker lineup. Forget celebrities – these people are my tribe! :)

I got ONE new curtain made for our bedroom (yes, only one… but it’s a start!!! :-D ) & I got to go to the gym by MYSELF! Hubs watched the kids so I could go. Man, it felt so nice to get in the car by myself. :-D

Lots of little hoorays over here too… just family time, spending little moments playing with my 4yo. She’s my youngest and I’m hyper aware of how fast time is going by with her; so this weekend I tried to fit extra playtime in. And it was lovely! Also, daylight at 5:30 has me pretty thrilled! Looks like your meetup was fun – wish I lived closer! :)
