If there’s anything I’ve learned over the last five years blogging and running a handmade shop, it’s this: when passion is inside me I must chase it.

Do you remember when I started writing things in my blog posts like, “I have so much to share, but I don’t know where to begin” or, “I have so much to say but when I sit down to write nothing comes out”?

Yup. That was a rough bundle of time for me.

But what I’ve also learned over the last five years is that there’s joy in the waiting. And so with that I’d like to share a few new ventures that I’m incredibly passionate about :) Grab a seat and get cozy.

Months of thoughts similar to the two I wrote above have lead me to this blog post you’re reading. I’m excited for what I have to share with you… and what an exciting thing to share.

Are you ready?

Most of you know that five years ago this month I taught myself how to sew. Five years ago the Gussy Sews community first began, and for five years it ran strong. I’d like to believe the past year — and all the adventures my family experienced: accepting a job in California without having a home address, moving cross-country in just our Jeep, restructuring the Gussy Sews business from an in-home to an out-of-home operation, welcoming our first baby (a son!), learning how to juggle indie biz with mamahood and then lastly, moving to a new apartment — has lead me to what I have to share today.

And so I’d like to believe the accumulation of the past year has lead me to today, but in my heart I know it’s from the LORD. It always is.

Gussy Sews has been my baby for five years now, and it’s time to make a few changes (big smiles!).

We are getting ready to go on another adventure. No, this one doesn’t include a move or a new baby — but it does include a new handmade shop. We are polishing the final details, and it’s all so so exciting.

THREE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW:

  • my blog domain will be going back to www.maggiewhitley.com, this will help serve as an umbrella for other ventures
  • the Gussy Sews shop is transitioning fully to The Gussy Club. By that we mean the Gussy shop as you currently know it will be going away after December 16, and the only way to purchase a Gussy item after December 16 is to become a part of The Gussy Club. The final day to purchase a Gussy item is December 16, 2013 [xo]
  • a brand new (lovely) handmade shop is being built // more details are coming soon :)

To the Gussy Sews community, I love you deeply, and I’m grateful for those of you who’ll be journeying with me on this next adventure.

More details & information on my new shop is coming soon, don’t you worry :)

I’m beyond excited for this new adventure, which is based around my favorite quote, “Inspiration is all around you.”

And, I hope you’ll sign up for a round of The Gussy Club (2 months of unique, sassy product for a set price & shipping). I truly love creating the designs and the community we have together, it’s such a blessing to me.

With lots and lots and lots of love, Maggie

    Hey There Maggie,

I got a large zip pouch as my very first Gussy item for a Christmas present last year and I love it to death!
Since I love your products so much I would obviously love to still eventually buy some more :) So my question is: Does the Gussy Club ship to Canada?

Wow, I think you will be a great OB. It seems like you have a real love for children, faiilmes, and people in general. Sad to say that those qualities are rare traits in todays world. I believe not just anyone should be in just any job because you could be in a job that you hate and end up making everyone who comes in contact with you at work miserable. You have the joy and care to be great at your job and effect those you will be working around not only by your knowledge , but by your love for what you do.
