When I first started capturing my baby bump I was only 14 weeks pregnant. Now I’m 41 weeks {WHERE did the time go???!} and… we’re starting to have some long chats with Baby about making an appearance ;) I honestly didn’t think I’d make it to 40 weeks. From very early on the doctors said Baby has been measuring a week or more ahead of schedule. Plus, I felt so great most of the time, and I worked until I was 39 weeks, that I was sure something would happen early — since first pregnancies are easy like that ;) Ya know.

But, here we are, capturing 40 weeks of mama glow. I’m rolling with it. Besides, it’s good practice for mamahood.

For my very first Baby Bump post we snapped some pictures in Santa Monica. I thought it would be fun to return to the same spot to capture my final Baby Bump post. So here we are! :)

My mom flew in from Michigan late Tuesday night and we’ve been being the best Gussies we know how to be! That includes lots of chatting, movie watching, neighborhood walking and, more chatting. It’s really wonderful having her around for these final days of my pregnancy. She’s good for advice-giving. And listening. And a fun kitchen partner. Plus, she also likes chocolate.

We’re heading to the hospital early Monday morning to be induced — unless something happens before then. Which I’m really praying hard is what happens. I would love for labor to happen naturally, but at the same time we’re taking comfort knowing this is what God has planned for our family. I’m so ready to meet our baby, ohhhhhhhhh my goodness, yes I am!

Please keep our family in your prayers these next few days. Once it’s time, I’m super excited to share with you baby updates on the Facebook page + Instagram. I know it’s going to be a whirlwind of overflowing love/emotion. xoxo

I’ve been following along for about 10-15 weeks now. Started following for your sewing projects. But as a mom its hard to not follow the journey of a new mom! Two of my three pregnancies had to be induced. It just doesn’t happen naturally for some of us. And the end is no less sweeter and amazing. I wish you the best!

I am SO excited for you, Maggie! There is NOTHING IN THIS WORLD like meeting your first baby for the first time. Enjoy these last few hours of it being just you and baby on the inside. In a strange way, I missed that intimacy of it being just her and I once she was born.

Good luck, Maggie! What a wonderful day tomorrow will be. I will be praying, and I look forward to seeing some pictures of your little bundle! Keep an open mind and let things happen as they may, and ask lots of questions during the process if you have them! The midwife and nurses will be very helpful. So glad your mom is here with you, that will make it all the more special. xoxo

Hey Maggie, I never comment but read everything and just wanted to say hello and an early congratulations! We have one daughter, gemma, and I was induced with her during my 40th week. That was not the way I saw it going and lots of women told me stories about how inductions are slower and can be a more long and painful process but my labor was 12 hours long and honestly, not that bad! I mean, it wasn’t a piece of cake but I felt God there with me and the love and excitement from so many family and friends and it was completely ok. It’s a day I will always treasure, no matter the pain, because it’s the day we met our daughter. I know this is long but I just wanted to give you some encouragement about being induced! I will be thinking of you all through the day tomorrow!

I have also run into Germans in this country with nhitong good to say about Germany: Its too conservative Its too racist There was a book I read by the author of stones in the river about Germans dealing with their heritage. One interview with an orphan from WWII really affected me to the point where I was repeatedly breaking down in tears. All he had in his life was a little wooden train.

How about a little Wednesday night introduction? 😘Social media sure has changed over the years and we don’t always SEE who we’re following or remember WHY we’re following certain accounts.

So, hello! As you can gather, my name is Maggie ;)

I started writing online (almost 13 years ago) to share the handmade products I was sewing. My shop was called Gussy Sews. ✂️👛I love the community that has grown from sewing & sharing online.

Let’s FFW to today: Zack and I live in Michigan and have four young children (2 boys & 2 girls). I slowly left the handmade industry and walked right into homemaking, homeschooling, and encouraging women through writing. 💕📝

Motherhood has been very hard on me. (And not just because of how close in age our four children are.) It’s been hard for me because I fought for years to accept that *it’s supposed to be hard*.

I mean, how do you effectively teach another person to know and love the Lord? Bc that’s how I think of motherhood: a calling to nurture others by studying the One who nurtures me. So I gotta make the first move: study the Bible and seek Him first. As my friend Autumn reminded me, vulnerability births transformation.

(I’ve had to be really vulnerable!)

So, yes motherhood has fully transformed me. But even more so, Christ has fully transformed me. My list of “all that He’s done for me” is off to a beautifully long start.

Something else I want you to know about me: I stalled for years before acknowledging I have anxiety and depression. It’s hard to talk about this because of course this isn’t forever “my hardship”, but rather because acknowledging this means to heal I have to work through some really difficult things. ✨

But my friend Jesus walks alongside me. He’s already done a mighty work in my heart, including helping me process my anger in healthier ways. I’ve also adopted a heart for sisterhood, mothering, and Titus 2 mentorship.

Sometimes our greatest losses are our greatest gains? That’s what I’m clinging to!

How about you? Tell me something about yourself so I can get to know you on a deeper heart level. 🖤🖤
