Hey friends! I hope your holiday season and New Year were everything you wanted! I know I consumed far too much chocolate and wore my slippers more often then I should have, but it’s what makes the winter great, right?! The days seem to be going by so quickly, before we all know it Maggie will be posting photos of the cutest little baby ever (who’s guessing its a girl?!). Before this happens lets celebrate Valentines Day.

If you are anything like me it’s just a day full of pink, red, roses + chocolate — maybe a dinner. But that’s while browsing everyone’s Instagram feed (I have a forgetful husband!). So my way of celebrating is to get dressed up a little on the lovely side. Why break the bank though if you may already have something that just needs a little re-working?

I’ve made over some accessories before {here and here} but today I’m showing a quick and easy project that can turning something cute into something even cuter — yes, its possible!

The project only requires two supplies: a headband + some nail polish! These headbands came in a pack of three from dollar tree and the nail polish is something I already had. I would assume you do too, so this is a $1 craft project! And now everyone says Hallelujah!

First you need to figure out how to keep your headband stable. You can choose to hold it the entire time or grab something that just acts as a base so when you’re done adding your design it can hang out and dry.

For photo purposes I used a base, but when I created the project I just held it. If you use these same headbands you will notice how quickly the polish dries because it gets absorbed into the headband material.

You can use a variety of colors and create any shapes you want, how fun would it be to tape off sections and create a pattern? I think dots are easy and the bright pink on the gold glitter was exactly my style.

This is one of the easiest ways to re-style items you already have and I love it for when you are changing your accessories from season to season. So grab your favorite polish and go crazy!

She’s a huge fan looking at pretty things and attempting to make them.

This is such a good idea! Another one of those “why didn’t I think of that?” moments!

Cute, easy idea! I remember painting my bobby pins with nail polish in high school to match my outfits :)
