This giveaway is now closed! Congratulations to the winner, comment #28: Aimee! Check your email, girl! xoxo

Well hello there! We a special giveaway planned today just for Gussy Sews readers — read on to see what Lori Danelle makes and how you can enter to win one of her illustrations. And psssst, it’s so easy!

+ + +

Hi, I’m Lori! Wife to Nate, Mom to two amazing little girls, ages 5 & 4, a graphic designer, perfectionist, and I make things. All sorts of things. I also cut things out of paper. About 3 years ago I discovered and fell in love with paper cutting. Illustrations are hand cut into these amazingly intricate designs out of a single sheet of paper with just a craft knife. The complexity of these cuttings seem nearly impossible to execute — which meant I HAD to try it!  I was hooked right away.

One night, right before going to bed, I had the idea to try cutting a fingerprint out of paper. Then I fell asleep and completely forgot about it! Luckily, I a few days later I did remember, gave it a try and found that I could indeed successfully cut out a fingerprint. From there it just seemed really obvious that I had to do versions with two prints on a sheet of paper for couples celebrating a wedding or anniversary and that the single style would make a really unique family portrait when all clustered together. Thus Lori Danelle was born.

Since Nate has interjected himself into “my” business, it has really morphed into OUR business — and I couldn’t be more thrilled. I’m free to work in my strengths as a creative, and Nate does the same with visioning, business structure and systems. Now because of this new partnership, I’ve been able to complete several illustration designs which we also offer in screen print art prints and we’ll have laser cut versions as soon as we find a laser cutter who can handle the size and level of quality that we require. Also, in addition to the original hand-cut fingerprint paper cuttings, we’ve added a more economically priced laser-cut version.

GIVEAWAY// $75 shop credit to anything at shop.loridanelle.com {open to US residents only}

I value handmade because I think it fills a void that all-to-often is prevalent in our mass-produced consumer market. I can give you a carefully crafted product that is often custom made just for you. I pay attention to all the details, whereas an assembly line somewhere doesn’t have that luxury. I care about each and every product that I send out. I love to be able to see the makers hand within a product. To me, that level of craftsmanship is important.

My designs are inspired by the things around me, quotes that inspire, a meaningful song or even my Great-Grandma’s recipe. I’m constantly looking and soaking up beautiful things.

To enter the $75 Lori Danelle giveaway please leave a comment below sharing what inspires you! I’ll be back early next week to pick a winner. Good luck + happy inspiration sharing :)

I fashion hand made jewelry and I am inspired by every day beauty that surrounds us. I think sometimes we are so busy looking at the forest we forget to see the trees. When I need inspiration I just to take a little walk to see the color palette God has put here for us to see, taste and smell.

How about a little Wednesday night introduction? 😘Social media sure has changed over the years and we don’t always SEE who we’re following or remember WHY we’re following certain accounts.

So, hello! As you can gather, my name is Maggie ;)

I started writing online (almost 13 years ago) to share the handmade products I was sewing. My shop was called Gussy Sews. ✂️👛I love the community that has grown from sewing & sharing online.

Let’s FFW to today: Zack and I live in Michigan and have four young children (2 boys & 2 girls). I slowly left the handmade industry and walked right into homemaking, homeschooling, and encouraging women through writing. 💕📝

Motherhood has been very hard on me. (And not just because of how close in age our four children are.) It’s been hard for me because I fought for years to accept that *it’s supposed to be hard*.

I mean, how do you effectively teach another person to know and love the Lord? Bc that’s how I think of motherhood: a calling to nurture others by studying the One who nurtures me. So I gotta make the first move: study the Bible and seek Him first. As my friend Autumn reminded me, vulnerability births transformation.

(I’ve had to be really vulnerable!)

So, yes motherhood has fully transformed me. But even more so, Christ has fully transformed me. My list of “all that He’s done for me” is off to a beautifully long start.

Something else I want you to know about me: I stalled for years before acknowledging I have anxiety and depression. It’s hard to talk about this because of course this isn’t forever “my hardship”, but rather because acknowledging this means to heal I have to work through some really difficult things. ✨

But my friend Jesus walks alongside me. He’s already done a mighty work in my heart, including helping me process my anger in healthier ways. I’ve also adopted a heart for sisterhood, mothering, and Titus 2 mentorship.

Sometimes our greatest losses are our greatest gains? That’s what I’m clinging to!

How about you? Tell me something about yourself so I can get to know you on a deeper heart level. 🖤🖤
