…have been like a whirlwind. Getting settled, making this apartment feel like a home –by the way we bought a gray couch last night and it’s beauuuutiful!–, setting up the Gussy shop, taking lots of walk, eating lots of fruit and drinking lots of water + juice. Zack has a late start time so while we’re able to enjoy the morning together in theory, we’ve been so tired from staying up late {too late, oops!} so we’ve been sleeping in a bit. The other night we were up til 1am planning out our bedroom + the nursery. Which will be in our bedroom. Someone tell me we’ll be able to make a little nook for the wee babe so everyone gets enough sleep. Eventually. Right? Right?? ;)

Here are a handful of photos from my Instagram stream from the last couple of weeks. I’m @GussySews on there!

^ Our kitchen cupboards are filling up. I love opening the doors to see COLOR!

^ I really love writing thank you notes so I took some time last week to thank family + friends for sending our baby some gifts. So sweet!

^ Remember how I wanted to add more color to my wardrobe? Yup, still working on that :)

^ Last week I needed some major inspiration, so I snuggled up on our bed with these two magazines!

^ Homemade popcorn on the stove. I think I put too many kernels in there, oooops! ;D

^ This skirt is from Old Navy and it’s seriously my favorite. And I love how easy it was to pair the gray tee with Zack’s necklace we got while in Africa in May. So comfy {showing off my 15 week bump}.

^ I could eat this stuff twice a day, every day. Blueberry, blackberry, peach — yum!

^ We bought Bauer a new doggy bed and it’s the perfect size for him to curl up in it, but he INSISTS on laying half off. Which makes his long legs look like giraffe legs, snort.

^ We love super close to the Third Street Promenade so last Sunday we took Bauer with us for some pizza + music.

^ Earlier this week I was able to get back into sewing + designing. And it felt so great! Which reminds me, time to order more tags!

^ Taken yesterday morning, before Bauer + I walked alongside the ocean for our daily walk :)

^ Wednesday night I met up with some new friends for dinner, chatting + laughter. And it was exactly what my soul needed.

^ Do you have a copy of Jesus Calling by Sarah Young? If it, get one! It’s seriously an amazing devotional and every day I feel like it was exactly what I needed to hear.

^ Still working on adding color in. Do you think I’m doing it right? snort. Showing off my 16 week bump :)

^ This dog, he is ridiculous. He cracks me up hiding behind the ironing board + following me around every where I go. Bauer, please tell me you will continue to be a nice doggy once our baby is born… Bauer?

^ Also? The other day Bauer scampered off to the flowers and returned to me with dirt not only in his beard but inside his mouth. And a flower tucked in there for the ladies upstairs. Ha!

^ Testing out new ideas… I think I’m in love!

^ Dear Anthropologie, this owl is too adorable and if I owned it I’d fill it to the brim with cookies!!!!

* * *

We have some fun things planned this weekend — thrifting Saturday + Sunday mornings, trying out a new church, meeting a friend + his lady for lunch in Long Beach. And getting ready for week 17 to start Monday morning. Oh my goodness! I’ve started collecting things for the nursery, ideas + fun ways to split our bedroom, and I can’t wait to get started. Also, I’m going to be hiring another seamstress because let’s be honest, I can’t do it all! One step at a time, right? :)

Enjoy your Friday sweet friends! What are your weekend plans?

I have enjoyed reading about your move (glad you found a place!), your baby bump, etc. But I’ve gotta say that I think I’m in love with Bauer. I seriously get tears in my eyes seeing how cute he is. Okay, I just had to get that off my chest. Whew.

Maggie life is looking full and ever-so-happy lately. I’m so glad to see that! I can’t wait to hear about your new seamstress and see some new things hitting the shop.

For now though, it’s exciting watching you turn this new apartment into a home.

We also had the nursery in our room. We used layered whites for both sides and then added purples and aquas around the room. We made a chiffon curtain with sewn on aqua circles and hung it between the area for visual separation. I am a very new reader of yours and love all of the California/nesting stuff. Not to mention your adorable products :)

@Emily E, How did you hang a curtain? We are wanting to do that but the weight would be heavy, it would make some serious holes in the walls. If we did some sort of stand thing I’m afraid I’d trip over it :} TELL ME YOUR SECRETS!

I’m so praising God for His provision in this move. Now that you have a place and some furniture you can simply focus on making Cali home – friends, a church, living everyday life, and anticipating your MIRACLE baby. YEAH! You and Zach are truly living out the chord of three strands and I can’t wait to see your journey unfold.

I LOVE your IG photos. They always make me smile on my IG stream. I”m on there too @MelissaNesdahl.

Praying the church visit goes well! I’m off to the gym now…gonna read my she reads truth while I sweat beads on the cardio equipment :)

I can’t imagine having a baby in the room! But if it’s all you know, then I’m sure you can make it work great! It’ll be cozy! And at least that way he/she may start out in its own bed instead of yours. {WINK WINK}.

Love all your bright clothes! I need to run to Target and find me some colored skinnies!

LOVE the headband! I think I have that fabric for dresses! ;)

@Erin, Hi Erin — we order from a private vendor. When I was searching for custom tags I used Google and used the material, type (embroidered, printed, etc.) and quantity. Hope that helps! xoxo

So I have to tell you, my husband did the same thing with the popcorn last night and it was laugh out loud funny as he was running around the kitchen holding the pan and popcorn was flying everywhere. I also have to tell you that you are one of the cutest pregnant gals ever, and I am so inspired by your maternity fashion for whenever we choose to add to our little family.
