DIY: make a fall-inspired wreath

This year, for Thanksgiving, we’ll be celebrating with my parents, my big bro and his two little boys. They’re driving out here — about 600 miles, and I’m so excited to spend the weekend with them. It’ll be a full house, that’s for sure!, but it’s going to be cozy + amazing. Inside our home you’ll find an assortment of nature-inspired things: fall leaves made from felt, wicker balls, pine cones stored inside a glass jar, lots of orange, yellow and green, and a few wreaths.

A little bit ago I was outside with Bauer and there were so many pretty pine cones in the yard that I decided to bring as many as I could carry back inside. I found a glass jar, from Ikea, and arranged them inside. It was a perfect fit!

We’ve been burning candles in the evenings and it’s the best way to wind down. My mom has always had candles burning, for as long as I can remember… and it’s fun to carry that way of living into our home, too.

I’m not too sure what our Thanksgiving menu will look like but I imagine apple salad {a family recipe}, cranberries, stuffing, potatoes and turkey! Think I can find a yummy recipe on Pinterest…? ;]

I don’t know what kind of scents you like, but you have to check out “Fireside” by Slatkin & Co if you haven’t already.
