{Inspiration Workshop! — favorite accessories}

This week’s prompt is based around your FAVORITE ACCESSORIES! Do you have any? I’m suuuuure you do! ;]

Each week we receive a few emails asking if it’s OK to link up an older post to the Inspiration Workshop, or link up on Friday {instead of on Thursday}. And the answer is YES YES YES! The linky parties are open through Sunday nights at 11:59pm CST, and you certainly may link up a post that you previously wrote, just as long as it’s relative to the weekly prompt.

This week, for my inspiration, I’ve picked a few “accessories” that make me feel super happy. The first is nail polish with one glitter/sparkly fingernail, so cute!

How about repurposing ANOTHER outfit? This time I added a new sweater dress to a pair of skinny jeans, a chunky sweater, and a wide black bracelet ~ both things I had in my closet already, plus this headband from my shop. Also, I am slightly jealous of you gals that can wear lipstick! I think it’s so fun, hah — does that make me sound like a little kid? But I feel like such a dork with it on. Last night I went out with some friends for dinner and then went to a Women Entrepreneur’s meet-up {cocktails & conversation} and braved the pink lipstick! And it was fun ;]

PS. Can you spy the original Gussy? 100 points for you if you can!

Friends are always a lovely accessory to have around. Sitting with me here in Long Beach, CA is Jeannett — she’s such a sassy pants and I seriously LOVE her, and her personality! She likes to razz me, and some times I give her a hard time about it, but then she calls me baby GusGus and I melt for her all over again ;]

Here I’m wearing a black & gray dot headband from my shop; Jeannett is wearing a Lisa Leonard necklace.

Have you heard of Blush Envy? OHHHHHHHHHH muh goodness, they are a fabulous handmade shop of giant rose rings + pretty bow rings. Check out their shop! love love loves. Many thanks to Whippy Cake for handing them out in a swag bag at The Creative Connection!

Every girl needs a pair of fun sunglasses. Amen.

Aren’t these ultra pretty? I found the photo on Pinterest, but sadly I don’t think it was pinned correctly so I’m not sure what it links to? But, they sure are lovely and make for a fun accessory.

**update: here’s the shop, www.etsy.com/shop/louandlee

And lastly — something else I consider an accessory {like a good friend, mentioned above} is feeling pretty. I secretly love the inside of our bathroom cabinet, the way it smells. All the pink bottles that wash away make-up and leave me smelling fresh, make me feel pretty. When you take care of your body — of the gift it is, it’s easy to feel pretty on the inside, too. I’m not saying that beauty on the outside is what matters, more so that treating yourself well is important ♥.

Also: happiness, a warm smile and showing love to others are pretty accessories we should carry around daily.

    too.
    not to.
because i have no idea what it means to maggers someone.
    but it sounds borderline inapporpriate.
    which could be funny too.
so let’s leave it and see how it goes.

Snap, I accidently wrote the title of my post and not my blog name! :( I’m such a bad girl.
I totally know what you mean about lipstick! I just don’t think it’s for me. :)

if you are on the website’s permalink (so this URL for this specific blog post: http://www.gussysews.com/2011/10/inspiration-workshop-favorite-accessories/) then you download the “Pin It” toolbar from Pinterest, found here: http://pinterest.com/about/goodies/

The instructions are at the top of the page, for the “Pin It” Button

Then all you do is click “Pin It” when you’re on a permlink, then follow the prompts! Super easy ;)

I am right there with you – can’t do lipstick either. But I loooove lip tints and balms. I have way too many.

    Yay glittery nail polish! :)

I originally found Blush Envy on etsy and fell in love with their flower rings. I’ve wanted a flower ring ever since Disney’s Robin Hood (when Robin gave Marian a ring he made from a flower and a firefly lit on it. Total romance). That bow is totally adorable too – clever people.

I was interesteԁ to know how you center yourself and
clеar уour head before writing. I’ve had troublе clearing my mind in getting my thoughts out.
I do take pleasure in writing hoωever it just seems like the
