♥ My sweet, sweet, sweet friend Casey is guest posting today. I “met” Casey few months ago and she became a gift to me pretty much immediately :] Just recently I asked her if she’d guest blog for me since she wears her heart on her sleeve and is totally encouraging/inspirational, totally clueless as to what she’d send back to me for her post, but after reading her words below I am so humbled…

Oh yes…

♥

My name is Casey Wiegand, I am a freelance artist, wife and mama. I love painting and sharing our life through our blog…where you can expect pieces of my perspective on life, faith, kids, marriage, with touches of art, creative inspiration, projects and things I love along the way. I have two littles ones in the hopes of lots more and am married to the love of my life! So nice to “meet” you all!

I really couldn’t be more honored to be guest posting today for sweet Gussy. Actually, she probably thinks that I am going to be writing today all about myself but instead I want to tell you some things about my precious friend Gussy and how she is such a huge part of my story.

This January (2011) I decided that one of my New Year’s resolutions was going to be to start my new blog (the Wiegands, from the heart of Casey) and start to share our life with people. I also knew that I wanted to pursue some of my personal dreams with my art career. Very early on in this journey I heard about Gussy. 6 months ago I was just a start up blog and sent her something as unprofessional as a tweet and she agreed to do a giveaway with me. Not only that but asked for my address so that she could send me a gift (my first Gussy).

I remember thinking “is this girl for real?!!” She has like a zillion fans and why in the world is she taking so much time to be so incredibly kind to someone like “little ol me”. Not to mention she barely knew me. Then one day I woke up to find that she had done a feature post on the art studio for kids that my husband and I started, A Little Artsy. Continually amazing me and going above and beyond to help my family and to help me pursue my dreams.

Well, not too much later my husband left his job because he felt like that is where the Lord was leading us (we had zero savings and actually at the time negative in our bank account.)

2 freelancers, 2 little babies to feed, not a dime to our name…
a lot at stake.

We wrote a blog post about it and Gussy emailed me and really started pursuing a friendship with me. She went out of her way to reach out to me…she wanted to know about me as a person, my dreams, my passions, my life.

What a rare quality.

A lot of people don’t even have the time to send a reply email and here was someone with 5,000 plus fans who wants to help….me?! I started getting advice from her and getting to know her better.

She has such a humble, confidence….she’s kind, driven, creative…..there is something so so special about her…..she’s unique, a truly beautiful person. Very blessed to have a friend like her.

For my birthday this year I asked for my second Gussy and it arrived just in time to share a pic of this amazing.ness!

If you don’t own one, you are missing out.
Every time I check out at the grocery store I get comments.

She’s going places (I mean, she already has)….but I mean BIG places…and I can’t wait to see.

Not to mention what a beautiful quality that she possesses in sharing the love.

♥

OK, it’s Gussy again, still blushing… Casey, you are a gift. Make sure you connect with Casey online ~ she is a super fabulous gem!!! blog * twitter * facebook

Wonderful post! I agree, Gussy is a really sweet person. She has given me advice here and there and I truly appreciate it. I too think, look at all her friends and yet she takes the time to help out when asked. I too asked her to do a giveaway and was so humbled when she said yes:) And YES, she is going places for sure that Gussy!

Gussy, you are an inspiration to SO MANY people! When I first started looking into this whole blog world, I very quickly stumbled upon Gussy Sews, and the first time I left a comment, I got a reply with a question about myself. Every time I had a question for Gussy, she responded with the sweetest replies, even when I was concerned maybe I was being a bother. :) Seriously, I don’t think my life would be the same had I not met you, Gussy!

Love how as busy as your are, you took the time to mentor & show her the way! She’s a very lucky girl. I tried the same in the past. Person didn’t help any just wanted to pursue all for themselves. Perhaps one day I can be as lucky! Until then I will be inspired by reading your posts! =)
