Morning came and I wasn’t quite ready for it. I hit snooze for the second time [that is a lie, i hit it 4x. gasp.], pulled the covers up a little bit higher. It’s been chilly here in Minneapolis ~ every morning I look upward and raise my eyebrows. He must have noticed *wink* because this morning we woke to blue skies and the promise of 60 degree weather.

[Yesterday it was 33 degrees…]

Bauer’s not allowed on our bed to sleep, but each morning around 5 I wake to find him curled in a little ball at my feet. I think it’s cute; Zack rolls his eyes, turns over, and — he doesn’t know it — but I see the little smirk he writes on his face. Hah!

So with the blue skies outside, and the morning ticking away, we get up. Zack makes coffee. Bauer stretches for us and walks around the house with some extra pep in his step. It’s very cute :]

Today I’m thankful for: the birds chirping ~ the front door open and the little doggy that is now tall enough to see out the screen ~ this blog and The Beatles on her play list ~ for a little bit of pink [see below] that my mom read I was needing [xxoo, mom] ~ for the lunch date with my friend Jill!!! ~ for the orders waiting to be packaged, new fabric that’s on it’s way to me, for Lisa & Anna who help me with my ruffles. I most definitely can’t do this alone and I’m so, so super thankful for the help.

There has been a fun splurge of giveaways on here lately. It’s a bit abnormal, but still fun, right? :] Especially when it’s time to announce the winners…

giveaways + winners:
Vintage Notions book — Lori, email: itsybitsystitch_ _@gmail.com]
April sponsors — Mary of The Great Elephant Symposium
Featured Artist, Tuckoo and MooCow — Kris of Life at the Table

*all 3 winners have been emailed.

We are having a small sale on select items, click here to see which ruffles have been marked down.

So… that’s about all I have to share on this fine Tuesday morning. Do you have anything specific you want to read about in May? Leave me a comment if you do…
xo.

I think itd be fun for you to post a mini tour of the area you live in. Or you could do a vlog about it. You’re always mentioning how great the area is but we dont get to see it the way you do:) Just a thought.
    Have a wonderful day Maggie:)

I hit the snooze becuase it is like a magic signal for my hubby to snuggle me. I always set my alarm earlier than I plan to get up, so I can get that snuggle time.

I enjoy hearing about how you run/grow your business!

My kitty woke me up very early making that funny noise cats do when they watch birds. My yard was full of robins. So after I let her outside I “slept in” too – though mostly I was just snuggled into the blankets and being stubborn about being awake. :)
We are supposed to get nice weather tomorrow, but it hasn’t shown up here today. That’s okay, I planted a bunch of seeds and this way I don’t have to water them yet. ;)
    Congratulations to the winners!

Sounds like a perfectly happy day! I awoke to a cat on my head and two little boys being silly this morning. We’re already on the verge on complaining about the heat here in Arizona, as it’s getting up into the 90’s. I would freeze at 33! I’ll try to send some of our heat up your way – sounds like you guys could use it!

I’m a snooze button kind of gal too! It’s been a bit cool here in Texas for the past two days. Of course nothing compared to 33 but more like 70’s.

I’m so excited to be a winner!! Thank you!!!

You need to come visit Texas! Today its about 55 and we’re all bundled up because we’re used to 90 at this time of year. I feel like such a wuss in my warm head band and long sleeves!

I’d love to read about the books that you’re reading. Dunno if that’s your style, or not, but I just love to know about what’s on everyone’s book shelves!

Mary, I think we posted at the same time about the “cool” Texas weather! I can’t imagine how northerners do it. Tomorrow morning is going to be 48 degrees by me and I’m mentally counting my jackets and hoping I haven’t packed them all away!

I fought every internal comment I could think of a I fought every internal comment I could think of and took my kiddos for a looooong walk today before dinner. ❄️✨ There’s just so much work required to raise children! I’m feeling like a tired lady. But sunshine & fresh air are good companions to keep around.

We came home and I made “the best dinner ever”. Max specifically announced, “it’s so great you’re launching new meals to the world”. LOL— kids! 🤣👏🏻💓
How about a little Wednesday night introduction? 😘Social media sure has changed over the years and we don’t always SEE who we’re following or remember WHY we’re following certain accounts.

So, hello! As you can gather, my name is Maggie ;)

I started writing online (almost 13 years ago) to share the handmade products I was sewing. My shop was called Gussy Sews. ✂️👛I love the community that has grown from sewing & sharing online.

Let’s FFW to today: Zack and I live in Michigan and have four young children (2 boys & 2 girls). I slowly left the handmade industry and walked right into homemaking, homeschooling, and encouraging women through writing. 💕📝

Motherhood has been very hard on me. (And not just because of how close in age our four children are.) It’s been hard for me because I fought for years to accept that *it’s supposed to be hard*.

I mean, how do you effectively teach another person to know and love the Lord? Bc that’s how I think of motherhood: a calling to nurture others by studying the One who nurtures me. So I gotta make the first move: study the Bible and seek Him first. As my friend Autumn reminded me, vulnerability births transformation.

(I’ve had to be really vulnerable!)

So, yes motherhood has fully transformed me. But even more so, Christ has fully transformed me. My list of “all that He’s done for me” is off to a beautifully long start.

Something else I want you to know about me: I stalled for years before acknowledging I have anxiety and depression. It’s hard to talk about this because of course this isn’t forever “my hardship”, but rather because acknowledging this means to heal I have to work through some really difficult things. ✨

But my friend Jesus walks alongside me. He’s already done a mighty work in my heart, including helping me process my anger in healthier ways. I’ve also adopted a heart for sisterhood, mothering, and Titus 2 mentorship.

Sometimes our greatest losses are our greatest gains? That’s what I’m clinging to!

How about you? Tell me something about yourself so I can get to know you on a deeper heart level. 🖤🖤

But today! Today we reset the rhythm, and we have had a much happier home & time learning together. 👏🏻
