Celebrate fall // thanksgiving // family by decorating your home with velvet pumpkins from Plush Pumpkin! The plump babies have some serious weight to them and I’ve already found many places throughout my house where they can rest {ottoman, dining room table, mantle, end table, in my office}.

Aren’t the colors gorgeous?! Bauer thinks they are perfect ~

Plump Pumpkins + puppy <3

Plump Pumpkins <3

Each pumpkin is made with the stem from a once-living pumpkin, gourd or squash. And each stem is beautiful with its curly details. I love the natural element of the stem!

omg, these are amazing! I heart pumpkins!

I celebrate giving thanks by sharing a fun Thanksgiving morning with my hubby and son watching the parade on tv, eating pumpkin bread, & drinking hot chocolate. spending time with family is one of the best ways to show you are thankful for those you love!

We each say something at the Thanksgiving table we are thankful for, and then we celebrate by stuffing ourselves silly…and there may (read: most definitely) be wine/beer/libations involved! :)

I celebrate giving thanks by trying to be thankful everyday of the year, grateful for what the Lord’s blessed me with, and finding contentment in the things I have… My most memorable part of Thanksiving (besides the feast!) is my grandfather reading Psalm 103 before our meal. “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His Holy name! Bless the Lord, O my Soul and forget not all his benefits…” I can hear his southern drawal in my head saying it! :) I’ll be blessed this year to hear him read it after not being apart of my family’s Thanksgiving traditions for 5 years! :) I’m SO excited…and thankful!

I am giving thanks this year because my mom is still with us. She has dementia so you never really know if she will remember us. Sad but this year we can celebrate with her. I will be bringing all the food and cooking it there because it is a day off for her caregivers. These are so dang cute…I love the leopard one!!

Those are SO CUTE. What a creative artist/crafter!!

This year will be my first year being back home after living 600 miles away for the last several years. I’m looking forward to a family meal and lots of reminiscing about years gone by. I like talking about past years and specifically family members no longer with us, to keep their memory alive and, I guess, make it feel like they’re still here with us to celebrate, in a way.

I celebrate Thanksgiving every year by getting together with family. Cousins, aunts, uncles, sisters, etc., most of whom I don’t get to see except for the Holidays. So, I’m very thankful to have such a large loving family that still cares about each other and wants to gather together!

Thanksgiving has never really been regular for me – divided between different sides of the family, always having to choose one or the other, always seeing looks of disappointment. This year, I’m giving thanks with (and for) my handsome boyfriend and brother in Christ. We are taking a road trip to be with his family and for once, I won’t need to worry about “making the rounds” and can think about what truly matters!

Finding things to be thankful for every single day is essential when you’re a mom. We try to stop and verbalize what we’re thankful for when we get stressed. (This too shall pass!) The holiday is another occasion to gather with family and celebrate our blessings. Always a big meal (usually two – help me) and family.

While we are cooking and sitting at dinner we talk about all of the adventures we have had in the year and how thankful we are that we were able to have all of these experiences. We really want the day to be a pause in our busy lives, which allows us to truly see how blessed we really are. I love these pumpkins…..a very modern take on a traditional theme! My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving….and my favorite part is the huge handpainted Turkey platter that has been in our family for over a hundred years. It only comes out once a year, and it came from Europe when my great grandparents visited there. I love the sentimentality, and even though I live 1200 miles away from my parents now, and dont get to go home for the holidays, I love knowing that platter will always be on my family’s table:)

Oh my – I haven’t seen pumpkins this cute in a looong time.

Every year, over the Thanksgiving holiday, I formally celebrate giving thanks twice. Once, with my dear friends – we gather and enjoy “friends Thanksgiving” the weekend before turkey day. We all make signature dishes and thouroughly enjoy our meal, but most of all, our years of friendship. Then, on Thanksgiving day, gather with my immediate and extended family for a fabulous feast. The meal always starts with a prayer filled with mentions of what we’re thankful for – and the afternoon/evening is filled with loving family, fantastic food and lots of laughter.

I’m feeling like a tired lady. But sunshine & fresh air are good companions to keep around.

How about a little Wednesday night introduction? 😘Social media sure has changed over the years and we don’t always SEE who we’re following or remember WHY we’re following certain accounts.

So, hello! As you can gather, my name is Maggie ;)

I started writing online (almost 13 years ago) to share the handmade products I was sewing. My shop was called Gussy Sews. ✂️👛I love the community that has grown from sewing & sharing online.

Let’s FFW to today: Zack and I live in Michigan and have four young children (2 boys & 2 girls). I slowly left the handmade industry and walked right into homemaking, homeschooling, and encouraging women through writing. 💕📝

Motherhood has been very hard on me. (And not just because of how close in age our four children are.) It’s been hard for me because I fought for years to accept that *it’s supposed to be hard*.

I mean, how do you effectively teach another person to know and love the Lord? Bc that’s how I think of motherhood: a calling to nurture others by studying the One who nurtures me. So I gotta make the first move: study the Bible and seek Him first. As my friend Autumn reminded me, vulnerability births transformation.

(I’ve had to be really vulnerable!)

So, yes motherhood has fully transformed me. But even more so, Christ has fully transformed me. My list of “all that He’s done for me” is off to a beautifully long start.

Something else I want you to know about me: I stalled for years before acknowledging I have anxiety and depression. It’s hard to talk about this because of course this isn’t forever “my hardship”, but rather because acknowledging this means to heal I have to work through some really difficult things. ✨

But my friend Jesus walks alongside me. He’s already done a mighty work in my heart, including helping me process my anger in healthier ways. I’ve also adopted a heart for sisterhood, mothering, and Titus 2 mentorship.

Sometimes our greatest losses are our greatest gains? That’s what I’m clinging to!

How about you? Tell me something about yourself so I can get to know you on a deeper heart level. 🖤🖤
