{the Chair :: my [new] favorite hair salon}

I went on a GORGEOUS walk this morning to The Chair. I’ve been lacking in creative time, so I took my DSLR and took some photos on my walk home… It’s so sunshiny sunny outside. I could have spent another hour outside. Easily.

Anyways ~ The Chair is a darling little hair salon and ohhhhhhh, I now have the best haircut ever.

With my wavy/curly/whateverrrrrr you call it hair, I have a hard time finding a stylist that cuts it the way I like it. No stylist has ever made Gussy happy until today’s haircut. Hah! And I am not being dramatic.

Normally, I leave with stringy-wavy hair that’s kinda crunchy feeling. {See? Doesn’t that sound gross?}

Today I left with this:

Rachel, my stylist, used some Defining Whip in my hair. This stuff is like gold, people. And it smells good. I’m going to swipe a little under my nose tonight. Don’t tell Zack.

***

AND! Look at how fun the salon is on the inside?! It was so cozy — and I love Aveda’s tea. Yum!

If you’re in the Minneapolis area you MUST visit — and ask for Rachel :] She was so fun and we talked the entire time. She’s my new friend.

    Love it. Is that hair product good to just scrunch in wavy hair? I have wavy hair too and I hate how so many products make it crunchy. The only one I halfway like is the Tres Semme one that comes in a black and green bottle and it’s a cream, but it’s hard to find here sometimes. I want something that will define the curls without making my hair hard or leaving it wet looking. Did she blow dry it?

    Your hair looks so cute. I wish mine had a little teeny tiny curl, but no. I’m stuck with stick straight hair. sigh

    I LOVE your hair cut! I have similarly frustrating hair: not curly ENOUGH to be truly “curly” hair, but has more body than “wavy” hair too, and super-duper-mega thick. UGH. Wish I could find a stylist like yours!!

    Super cute! And I LOVE that place – I’ve been going there, too (I started mostly cuz it’s walking distance from my house). Next time you go there drop me a line and we’ll meet @ Gigi’s for java!

    I know how you feel about the “stringy-wavy…crunchy” hair after getting it cut. I always go home and wash and “fix” my hair after getting it cut. I started telling her I just wanted to throw it back up in a pony tail rather than letting her style it. There’s less damage that way… Congrats on the cute style today!

    Love the haircut. Very cute. I think we have similar hair. I’ve been doing them same thing with mine for a while (suave professionals or garnier fructis mousse), but that looks like great product!

    I can TOTALLY relate. Finding someone who gets you and your hair is not an easy task. Then to have someone who’s super fun to talk to in an adorable place is like whip cream and a cherry on top! You look FAB gussy!!!

    I just stumbled across your blog(I am now bookmarking it!) and I just love your hair. I have curly/wavy hair, too and would love a cut just like yours! I’m sure it wouldn’t turn out right for me though. :P

    uhhh weird… the day I saw this post I had JUST gotten my hair cut at an absolutely adorable salon I love, by a girl who is the ONLY stylist whose cuts I’ve just loved. your hair looks AWESOME! I too have curly hair so I feel your “whatever hair” pain. :(
