I’m in Pennsylvania ~ yay! And I’ve been up for 12 hours already ~ yay?! ;]

Last night was a great family night. I served baked chicken, homemade mashed potatoes {and apple crisp!} and carrots. It was the perfect family dinner before I had to leave town for a few days. I made sure to get some extra snuggle time with Bauer before bedtime, too…

This morning was an early morning — early, like a 3:19am wake up. My first flight to PA was with Allison and Amy. We were on a huge jet and everything was perfect.

Then, we take our second PA flight into Harrisburg and, umm, we rode in this propeller “thing”:

Yeah. I called Zack once all the flights were over and he immediately said, How is Allison’s hand? Is it purple? I think he just knew… He has husband intuition.

The flight was only 40 minutes {thank you, Jesus, seriously}, but the plane shook and shook and vibrated and turbulanced and dropped a few feet every other minute. Poor Allison. I jabbered the entire flight because I couldn’t not jabber. And she held my hand.

Once she said, Oh look at the trees, they’re so pretty. And I just sat there like, I CAN NOT LOOK OUT THE WINDOW, ARE YOU CRAZY?

♥

I was sweating. And praying — OUT LOUD — for my safety. I think all 40 of us on the flight were praying…

But anyways, the flight was fine, it was just a little bitty plane. And now we’re here, hanging out in our hotel room :] Waiting for everything to start…

xoxo.

Those little “propeller ‘things'” make me nervous too and I’m an experienced flier! You just feel every. little. thing. and your mind starts playing tricks on you…

    Have fun at Relevant!

    Awww! Bless your heart, Maggie!

I don’t think we can ever fly together. I’m just as bad. I just about break hubbie’s hand and order wine every time the flight attendant walks by. It’s not pretty.

Sad part is . . . hubby’s a pilot and loves flying. He totally doesn’t get me. *snort*

Can’t wait to hear all about it. Have a great time!

Haha, Maggie! You crack me up. So glad you made it. Our family calls them “puddle jumpers.” And I’ve ridden a puddle jumper between islands in the Virgin Islands. Interesting, to say the least!

Oh I am SO JEALOUS. Not of the propeller plane, I don’t really mind flying so much but tiny planes are never fun, but of Relevant and of getting to spend time with Allison. Have so so much fun!!

I’m jealous, just because of the fact that my parents live in the Harrisburg area and if I was going to Relevant I could stay with them and cut back on expenses! Enjoy that beautiful state! :)

Oh dear. Gussy, I really feel for you on that plane girly. That’s exactly what I do when I fly– talk non-stop and squeeze someone’s hand.

Once, the flight attendant gave me wine to try and sedate me. Yikes.

That’s what my last flight from Chicago to South Bend was – 20 minutes of sheer terror, IMO! That was 7 years ago. And, I am thinking of all the ways we can drive whenever we want to go somewhere.

oh wow. I couldn’t do it. I think the nervous ball of anxiety from turbulence + decending would MAKE me get sick. I hate flying and other than flying to a different country (where you’re bound to get a HUGE plane where you can’t feel much….just SMELL much…ugh) I am a nervous ball of gloop. I even take drowsy dramamine just so I can try to relax….unless my kids are with me…bless your heart!!!

Ha I remember a flight like that from Manchester, NH to NYC, in a snow storm, the girls behind us screamed everytime the plane took a big dip, people all over the plane were using the little bags, my husband wouldn’t talk to me, he was trying to keep from using the little bag, me I sang Amazing Grace as loud as I could, not even sure anyone could hear me…Jesus did! We landed safely, felt like dropping to my knees and kissing the ground!! Glad you landed safely!!

Reflecting on this today 💓🕊 When I reflect o Reflecting on this today 💓🕊 When I reflect on the moments I’ve felt my mind spinning, my emotions swirly, it’s almost always when I’m not feasting on the word of God. Not that reading scripture is the cure for anxiety —no! Rather, it’s hard to worry when we’re worshipping.

I fought every internal comment I could think of a I fought every internal comment I could think of and took my kiddos for a looooong walk today before dinner. ❄️✨ There’s just so much work required to raise children! I’m feeling like a tired lady. But sunshine & fresh air are good companions to keep around.

We came home and I made “the best dinner ever”. Max specifically announced, “it’s so great you’re launching new meals to the world”. LOL— kids! 🤣👏🏻💓
How about a little Wednesday night introduction? 😘Social media sure has changed over the years and we don’t always SEE who we’re following or remember WHY we’re following certain accounts.

So, hello! As you can gather, my name is Maggie ;)

I started writing online (almost 13 years ago) to share the handmade products I was sewing. My shop was called Gussy Sews. ✂️👛I love the community that has grown from sewing & sharing online.

Let’s FFW to today: Zack and I live in Michigan and have four young children (2 boys & 2 girls). I slowly left the handmade industry and walked right into homemaking, homeschooling, and encouraging women through writing. 💕📝

Motherhood has been very hard on me. (And not just because of how close in age our four children are.) It’s been hard for me because I fought for years to accept that *it’s supposed to be hard*.

I mean, how do you effectively teach another person to know and love the Lord? Bc that’s how I think of motherhood: a calling to nurture others by studying the One who nurtures me. So I gotta make the first move: study the Bible and seek Him first. As my friend Autumn reminded me, vulnerability births transformation.

(I’ve had to be really vulnerable!)

So, yes motherhood has fully transformed me. But even more so, Christ has fully transformed me. My list of “all that He’s done for me” is off to a beautifully long start.

Something else I want you to know about me: I stalled for years before acknowledging I have anxiety and depression. It’s hard to talk about this because of course this isn’t forever “my hardship”, but rather because acknowledging this means to heal I have to work through some really difficult things. ✨

But my friend Jesus walks alongside me. He’s already done a mighty work in my heart, including helping me process my anger in healthier ways. I’ve also adopted a heart for sisterhood, mothering, and Titus 2 mentorship.

Sometimes our greatest losses are our greatest gains? That’s what I’m clinging to!

How about you? Tell me something about yourself so I can get to know you on a deeper heart level. 🖤🖤

But today! Today we reset the rhythm, and we have had a much happier home & time learning together. 👏🏻
