{morning walks with Bauer}

Every morning, Zack and I leave the house with Bauer in tow. The three of us walk to the bus stop, Zack gets on, the driver comments, Puppies ride free on this bus!, and then Bauer and I start our morning walk/run.

He’s the light of my life {is that the phrase?}. He pounces down the street, will stop and sit to watch the birds, and remembers where all the doggy water bowls are. He’s such a good pup.

I love the autumn colors we see. Leaves and berries — they’re scattered everywhere.

Once we get home it’s time for me to get to work. I usually start with my online/computer tasks. Then after lunch I get to sewing since my assistant comes in the afternoons. We’re so, so thankful Bauer likes his crate and that he can nap while in there. Until he can be left alone, he stays in there for 3-4 hours at a time while I’m working. We play for a bit, then he goes back in.

My days go by pretty fast now that we have a pup :]

*My cowl is from this shop ~ I love it!

Do you have a dog? What is your morning routine like?

Aw, this just makes me feel bad that I NEVER take our poor door for long walks anymore. But he’s 4 now and reeeeally lazy so I don’t think he’d even want to go. I still look forward to seeing his smiling face when I come downstairs every day though!

We have two dogs. We used to walk them everyday and take them to the beach every Saturday morning, but now with a baby it’s hard. Our morning routine is let the dogs out in the back yard, get the baby up, feed the dogs, let them out again and then we head out for the day. Needless to say, they’re VERY happy to see us when we get home from work. I wish we had more time and energy to run around with them and take them to the dog park. Life with animals forever changes once a baby arrives.

i adore my pup and he too is the light of my life besides my other half of course. Polo is like our kiddo:) I rise early at 5:15am and shower and get ready for work. I then wake Polo up who is always snuggled up next to Dave in the bed since they don’t have to wake up until 7am. I get Polo out of bed and take him outside on a long morning walk at 6:15am before I leave for the train station. He loves his walks-especially the morning walk and always tries to prolong it. He hates when Dave or I leave for work and would love it if one of us was home with him at all times. Since Dave is a CPA and has his own business, he works from home 1 day a week so at least he gets to hang out with Polo all day on one of those days. My dream job is to have a job like yours; to be able to be at home all day long and sew. Lucky you-you work hard though I know but to be able to have oodles of time with the pup would be amazing to me. :)fun post gus, love it:)

We have 2 dogs: a pomeranian and a boxer. Every morning I take them out to do their business and let them stay out long enough to rub their nose in the dirt and relax. Because we live in a townhome, I can’t just let them out by themselves [totally looking fwd to housebuying after the wedding so we can give them the fenced back yard they’ve dreamt of ;)] After their walk, they eat, the boxer goes back to bed!! My pomeranian, however, is super attached and he follows me everywhere. Both of our dogs are kennel trained and they stay in their kennels while we are at work. So, once I’m ready to go, I just say “kennel” and they go in their own kennels and day down :)

awwww he’s so adorable!! My little Jack Bauer is the king of our house {or so he thinks…}, but his life is drastically different now that he’s a big brother and has a baby chasing him around. He’s 4 years old, so he’s an old man and loves to sleep, snuggle with daddy and hide from the baby. We’ve never put him in a kennel (he’s scared of small spaces), but does really well sleeping on his bed and minding his own business :) There’s nothing like being a mommy to a pup! They are a blast!

Every morning we wake up wondering whose bed Bella our dog has slept in.She’ll either go and cuddle w/my daughter or son. Usually she’ll be curled up w/only her little head peeking out the covers. So cute. Then I feed her and kiddos and get everyone off to school let Bella out for a bit while I pick up the house and then we both head to my sewing room and she takes a nap by my feet while I sew. If she is bored w/me or wanting attention she’ll let out a big sigh and then I’ll take her out to play for a bit.and then she plays outside untill the kids get home. She is always so excited to see the kids and my hubby. So sweet!

He’s so adorable! I have a 5 year old Lab named Houston, and our mornings are super easy! She waits every morning for the alarm to go off because she knows that means she gets her breakfast! If we don’t get up right away she will sit and stare you down until you get up to feed her. Her life revolves around food! After she eats, she goes outside to do her thing and run around like crazy. Once she comes back inside, she goes right to her crate and lays down while I get ready for work. I don’t even have to ask her to go in there, she just loves hanging out in her “bed”. When I leave, I shut her crate door and she takes her naps until “Dad” comes home on his lunch to play with her.

Reflecting on this today 💓🕊 When I reflect o Reflecting on this today 💓🕊 When I reflect on the moments I’ve felt my mind spinning, my emotions swirly, it’s almost always when I’m not feasting on the word of God. Not that reading scripture is the cure for anxiety —no! Rather, it’s hard to worry when we’re worshipping.

I fought every internal comment I could think of a I fought every internal comment I could think of and took my kiddos for a looooong walk today before dinner. ❄️✨ There’s just so much work required to raise children! I’m feeling like a tired lady. But sunshine & fresh air are good companions to keep around.

We came home and I made “the best dinner ever”. Max specifically announced, “it’s so great you’re launching new meals to the world”. LOL— kids! 🤣👏🏻💓
How about a little Wednesday night introduction? 😘Social media sure has changed over the years and we don’t always SEE who we’re following or remember WHY we’re following certain accounts.

So, hello! As you can gather, my name is Maggie ;)

I started writing online (almost 13 years ago) to share the handmade products I was sewing. My shop was called Gussy Sews. ✂️👛I love the community that has grown from sewing & sharing online.

Let’s FFW to today: Zack and I live in Michigan and have four young children (2 boys & 2 girls). I slowly left the handmade industry and walked right into homemaking, homeschooling, and encouraging women through writing. 💕📝

Motherhood has been very hard on me. (And not just because of how close in age our four children are.) It’s been hard for me because I fought for years to accept that *it’s supposed to be hard*.

I mean, how do you effectively teach another person to know and love the Lord? Bc that’s how I think of motherhood: a calling to nurture others by studying the One who nurtures me. So I gotta make the first move: study the Bible and seek Him first. As my friend Autumn reminded me, vulnerability births transformation.

(I’ve had to be really vulnerable!)

So, yes motherhood has fully transformed me. But even more so, Christ has fully transformed me. My list of “all that He’s done for me” is off to a beautifully long start.

Something else I want you to know about me: I stalled for years before acknowledging I have anxiety and depression. It’s hard to talk about this because of course this isn’t forever “my hardship”, but rather because acknowledging this means to heal I have to work through some really difficult things. ✨

But my friend Jesus walks alongside me. He’s already done a mighty work in my heart, including helping me process my anger in healthier ways. I’ve also adopted a heart for sisterhood, mothering, and Titus 2 mentorship.

Sometimes our greatest losses are our greatest gains? That’s what I’m clinging to!

How about you? Tell me something about yourself so I can get to know you on a deeper heart level. 🖤🖤

But today! Today we reset the rhythm, and we have had a much happier home & time learning together. 👏🏻
