{Friday night date}

I’ve learned setting small goals and rewards for myself helps keep the to-do list moving.

Thursday night, I decided if I could accomplish my to-do list by Friday at 4pm that I’d head downtown and finish up work there. And I did — yay! :]

My destination? Starbucks.

It’s fabulous to get out and work somewhere else {even though working from home is the best ever!}.

Instead of meeting me & walking home together, Zack had me come to his work when I was done and he surprised me with a fun date! We walked over to Pizza Luce, one of the best pizza houses in Minneapolis, and enjoyed some deliciousness. Y U M!

Pizza is so good, I could eat it for breakfast! Hah!

Last week I decided to get over my hesitation to wear Gussy products. I mean, hello, I am Gussy.

So it’s OK, right? I think I’ve felt like it’s too much self-promotion. But I decided that that’s silly.

Gussy with a ruffled headband:

PS. Over the weekend I did some major budget work for Gussy. It was so tedious but now I feel so much more prepared and sure of things. I was putting this off because I was scared of the potential outcome, but the actual outcome {and numbers leading up to the outcome} is so encouraging! It makes me want to work harder to see what types of goals I can achieve with this information :]

PSS. Fingers crossed that my new blog header goes up today!

Have you done a budget for your business? If so, how has it helped you? If not, why not?

You guys are too cute! I need to sit down and do the tedious work too. Like you, I’ve been avoiding it but it needs to happen!

Hey I just found your blog the other day…it’s awesome! I have an etsy shop and sometimes I just feel overwhelmed at the whole business side of it. I hate doing budget stuff, so I would love to know what kind of budget plan you use for your biz? Is there any particular method that works the best for you? Thx!

    Hurrah for pizza!!!

I’m so glad you determined it was okay to wear your own products because I’ve taken a bazillion and one photos of myself in my crocheted headbands. I would have felt silly had you decided it was too much self-promotion. Besides, you look absolutely adorable in your own ruffles. =)

um – people must think I’m really obnoxious then, because I RARELY leave the house without wearing something of mine. Feel naked without a rosette somewhere. Annoying, I know – but people may as well know why in the world I’m a crazy woman half of the time!
PLEASE post soon about your budgeting methods… would love to hear your tips!

You MUST wear your stuff…it’s a part of who you are!! I’m so glad to see that you are pushing yourself to get out of the house and to enjoy time with your hubby. My husband and I have been self-employed for almost 10 years and we’re terrible about walking away from the work to take time together. There’s always something that can be done and so far you have been very balanced with your new career and I applaud you.

    Keep up the good work!!
