Howdy!

I mean, hello :]

How was your weekend? I hope it was lovely and filled with people you love. This was another “first” for me and Zack — spending Memorial Day away from family. We made it through by planning lots of fun things over the weekend.

I think our favorite day was yesterday. We slept in and drove to Lake Calhoun where we rented bikes! Yeow! We both l-o-v-e-d it!!! The weather was absolutely gorgeous — the sky was blue, it was warm {+ no humidity!}, there was a little breeze. Plus, we are totally in-love with each other. See, I could go on and on…

While we were looking for a spot to park I took a few pics with my phone. I can see the Minneapolis sky-line, can you?

We were going to rent a tandem but they are still being “tuned” for the season. Darn, we’ll have to come back. Instead we rented two cruisers! Mid-way through our 3.2 mile bike-ride we stopped for some hot dogs. Yum, yum!

{That’s right, my hot dog has a pickle, a few slices of tomato, and some yellow peppers on it. I gave Z the latter two. Hah!}

The lake was filled with thousands of people. Ahhh! We loved it so much! It seemed like everyone that stayed around town for the weekend was here at Lake Calhoun. Everyone and their cute little dog :]

I know we’ll be back another weekend. There is so many fun things to do: walk the trail, swim, have a cook-out, rent a canoe or paddle boat. RENT A TANDEM! We’re totally doing that soon :]

PS. Look at this pic:

We saw this little door in a tree on the way back to our car. Isn’t it so cute? The door is screwed to a hinge on the tree, and there is a note inside along with a red baseball cap. I can’t help but wonder about the kids that play with this and all the fun they have… I love it! :]

Tell me something sweet about your weekend! I’d love to know…

    So fun! I’ve always wanted to try a tandem bike…maybe the sweetheart and I will have to give it a shot sometime in the future. ;)

    Um, something sweet about my weekend? Chocolate cake. I baked 8 layers-worth yesterday! {for a bridal shower I’m hosting tonight.}

    My husband, BJ went all out on dinner. He grilled bratwursts, shrimp, cut up some green peppers, pineapple, and yellow squash, also had corn on the cob. I made a strawberry pie for the first time and it was very good.We also had pineapple margaritas too!

    I love LOVE, and this post is so sweet.

    Hubby and I are celebrating 10 years of marriage on June 9. Seems impossible. We’ve been together 1/3 of my whole life. We spent the weekend playing baseball with our boys at a near-desolate but beautiful arboretum. It was the perfect holiday.

    I hope that feeling only grows with each year of your marriage, too.

    I grew up swimming in various lakes around my hometown and this weekend, for the very first time, Chad and I took our babies out on a boat and swam in the lake with them. They loved it and so did I! Perfect memories.

    Oh…and the girls’ night out for my birthday Sunday night wasn’t too shabby either. Six friends joined me for dinner at Cheesecake Factory and that was followed by a free show at a little bar in my sweet home of Music City. ;) SO MUCH FUN.

I’m feeling like a tired lady. But sunshine & fresh air are good companions to keep around.

We came home and I made “the best dinner ever”. Max specifically announced, “it’s so great you’re launching new meals to the world”. LOL— kids! 🤣👏🏻💓
How about a little Wednesday night introduction? 😘Social media sure has changed over the years and we don’t always SEE who we’re following or remember WHY we’re following certain accounts.

So, hello! As you can gather, my name is Maggie ;)

I started writing online (almost 13 years ago) to share the handmade products I was sewing. My shop was called Gussy Sews. ✂️👛I love the community that has grown from sewing & sharing online.

Let’s FFW to today: Zack and I live in Michigan and have four young children (2 boys & 2 girls). I slowly left the handmade industry and walked right into homemaking, homeschooling, and encouraging women through writing. 💕📝

Motherhood has been very hard on me. (And not just because of how close in age our four children are.) It’s been hard for me because I fought for years to accept that *it’s supposed to be hard*.

I mean, how do you effectively teach another person to know and love the Lord? Bc that’s how I think of motherhood: a calling to nurture others by studying the One who nurtures me. So I gotta make the first move: study the Bible and seek Him first. As my friend Autumn reminded me, vulnerability births transformation.

(I’ve had to be really vulnerable!)

So, yes motherhood has fully transformed me. But even more so, Christ has fully transformed me. My list of “all that He’s done for me” is off to a beautifully long start.

Something else I want you to know about me: I stalled for years before acknowledging I have anxiety and depression. It’s hard to talk about this because of course this isn’t forever “my hardship”, but rather because acknowledging this means to heal I have to work through some really difficult things. ✨

But my friend Jesus walks alongside me. He’s already done a mighty work in my heart, including helping me process my anger in healthier ways. I’ve also adopted a heart for sisterhood, mothering, and Titus 2 mentorship.

Sometimes our greatest losses are our greatest gains? That’s what I’m clinging to!

How about you? Tell me something about yourself so I can get to know you on a deeper heart level. 🖤🖤

But today! Today we reset the rhythm, and we have had a much happier home & time learning together. 👏🏻
