{ask Gussy your Qs}

Some times I think I blog about the same things overrrrrr and overrrrrrrrrrr and over. Do you feel like that? It’s OK to be honest around here :] So I’ve got an idea: let’s do another FAQ/blog topic request post.

In the comment section below, ask me your questions! Tell me what you’d like to see in a post! New ideas? Share ’em. Tell Gussy :]

If you’d like to be more anonymous, feel free to email me! No matter how you contact me I won’t share your time or blog URL in the follow-up post.

What kinds of questions can you ask?

Well anything, really. But keep it classy, my mom & mother-in-law read this! :]

Ideas:

  • how did Zack and I meet?
  • what is my morning routine like?
  • what is Zack’s opinion on Gussy?
  • how many cities have Zack and I lived in since being married?
  • what is my favorite nail polish color?

Also! If you have photos of you and your Gussy product, email me a pic! I’d love to do a post showing off you & your Gussy wares.

Questions can be sent through Tuesday night (6/15), then I’ll close them and work on your answers.

OK — off to meet a new blog friend and enjoy some coffee! ♥

    Hey Gus!
I am a relatively new reader so I’m glad to see a post like this! I like getting to know people better :)
What is your current favorite Gussy product? What is your favorite/least favorite part of the sewing/creating something cute process?
So glad to have found your blog!
    Jill

What is your favorite part about Gussy? Do you like the creating or business side more? I am a creative and I am thinking that when I start my own photography business (SOON!), I will outsource more of the accounting and business side of things so I can focus on my favorite part: the people and photography!

I love your blog and your great bags! I’d love to hear more about your creative process, like how you come up with your ideas and then how you spend your day creating them. How did you first get the word out there about your bags and really get started? I am amazed by your great success and am so happy for you to be doing it full-time. :)

You’ve been an inspiration for a long time. My question is “if you could start your business over, what would you do differently or wish someone had told you?” I’m working on putting a few things together to “start” my sewing biz. I’d love to be able to avoid the pitfalls. Thanks and congrats again on all your success!

I have a question! Have you ever thought of making camera straps? I’ve been thinking of buying one and I would be seriously thrilled to have it Gussified. Wait, is this a custom order question? Ok, so that’s two questions.

I’d like to know what your daily schedule is like. Do you have set hours when you work and a set time you stop working? Are you strictly NOT working on weekends or are you finding yourself filling orders here and again? Or are you pretty much in a steady “work” mode all the time?

Do you make things for yourself? If so, what’s your favorite handmade item that you use?

[ps- so happy for you and your new work space! I know how important the work environment is!]

    When did you start sewing?

Did you start creating Gussy products from patterns, modify one to your liking, or make them up all by yourself?

What is your best advice for making your brand visible/advertising?

i like to listen to music when i sew, so i was wondering if it was the same for you? and if you do, what is your music of choice while you’re making your sweet creations?

how long have you been sewing for? what kind of sewing machine(s) do you use? what kind of iron do you have? i like knowing what kind of tools other people who sew use. if there’s one thing you absolutely need for your sewing/work area, what is it?

p.s.. i like the question about music too, as i listen to my ipod while i sew as well!

Do you prefer to buy your supplies (i.e. fabric, interfacing) by the bolt, wholesale or do you just buy by the yard? Also, how and when do you determine to re-stock your supplies….once a month, twice a month, every two months, etc.? Just wondering what is your process with this, love your creations!

I’ve been wondering… Do you say YEOW in real life? :o) lol
If someone wants to learn how to sew like you did, what do you recommend as far as the sewing machine goes?
What’s your favorite kind of music?

So many questions, so little time. Would love to know how you discovered your passion and who taught you how to sew.

Would you consider posting up pics of all the fabric you buy (maybe not all, but a variety), then give your customers the option to choose the fabric for the bag and the color of the ruffle, without it being considered a custom order? NOT that your bags aren’t adorable or anything as is, but just a thought since I’m dying for a turquoise and orange Gussy tote. :) I heart you and everything you make don’t forget it! :)

Gosh my question was way off from the others. Hope that’s ok!
