Filed Under: Gussy, quitting my day job

This weekend I couldn’t help but reflect on

how this week will be my last week of working a traditional day job. I’m going to let that soak in for a minute…

OH MY GOSH, IT COULD ALSO BE MY LAST WEEK EVER WORKING FOR SOMEONE ELSE!!! I can’t help but feel emotional about it in ways that I haven’t yet felt. Until now. And boy, the emotions are running high. I mean, our lives are going to change drastically — in such great ways — and I can’t help but say Thank you, LORD!

{By the way, as I type this Zack is drilling holes in the wall. I have such a handy man. So hott!}

{Also, I usually write my posts the night before, so technically it’s Sunday evening. Zack just walked by and said, By this time next week you’ll be going to bed to get up in the morning and run your own business. Gulp.}

So as I was saying, this weekend I spent some time reflecting:

  • that this is the last weekend I’ll have to work {unless I want to work}
  • how thankful we are to have this opportunity!!!
  • that I need to pack my bags! This girl is going on a surprise trip next weekend {thanks to Hubbs}
  • on the stomach ache that is forming inside me. I can’t lie, it’s there…
  • that it’s not my job to worry if the sales will continue to come in, or if people will still read my blog in a few months, or if ________ will or will not happy. Nope. That stuff is not for me. It’s for Him. When thoughts like this come to mind I think can think about them for 20 seconds, just long enough to know I need to make a plan and do the best I can… And then I need to pass them along to God and keep the faith

This place is going to be my new office:

Well, part of my new office :]

I also believe that since I’ll soon be home all day, working, we needed to re-arrange some things in our apartment. So we took some frames that were “cluttering” shelf space and hung them on the wall. By “we” I mean Zack did that. Thank you, babe. And we also tidied-up the cords in the entertainment center. Again, by “we” I mean Zack. And I cleaned a lot. And Zack cleaned a lot. And we laundered, and, and, and.

And it was really great.

What else? Oh, thanks for asking. My assistant is back on schedule this week. And I’ve got a coffee date tonight with Melissa :] And things are shaping up nicely here in Minneapolis for the official launch of Gussy. Everything seems to be moving right along for next week :]

Yayyyyy.

How about you? What are you working on/thinking about?

    Oh Gussy, you are GOING places! And I don’t just mean your surprise trip… ;D I am so excited for you as you start out on this new journey. I remember when I first discovered your blog, and the first Gussy I ever owned…I mean, I guess it wasn’t *that* long ago, but hopefully you know what I mean.

    Today I’m thinking about how nice some coffee would be. And planning on getting some as soon as I’m done here. :)

    Hope it’s everything you want it to be!

    Just a wee tip – working on your own all day can sometimes get a bit lonely, even if you love what you’re doing. Make sure you schedule some ‘meet up & chat with friends’ time into your timetable. Even once or twice a week can make a big difference.

    Enjoy! :-)

    Yes, I have thought of that… I plan on riding the bus downtown with Zack early some mornings to have coffee and then blog. And I hope some of my mom friends will be able to meet with me during the day. So fun! Can hardly wait :]

    vanniyars were the rulers of TN. So why do they need rereivatsons? The fucking brahmins were beggers at that time, as they had to beg for their food. when beggers are not having rereivatsons why the kings should have it?I dont know when Vanniryarism would end. Any body who is talking about their caste is a terrorist. He should be shot dead. This would include Dondu also.
