I want to share a really spectacular quote with y’all:

If you want to be happy, be.
Leo Tolstoy
Isn’t that just the truth? I know life throws you curve balls — big curve balls, some times, but He’s always in charge, always knows the next step. If we don’t move forward in faith and confidence then we are moving backwards. And life is constantly moving forward! So that doesn’t work… not at all.

I am Gussy, a Gussy that loves a good, honest, down-to-earth REAL chat. I need to know the good, bad & ugly and need to walk life with my friends, not sort of walk with them. So, when I shared the above quote, please take a few minutes and hold it close to your heart.

Do it for me.

I’m feeling incredibly blessed today and want to share it with you :)

I understand that some times we aren’t happy, but we must always strive to be happy.

Over the past few months, while living in Minneapolis, I’ve really realized that no matter what Zack and I have gone through we’ve always gotten through it.

If you’ve been reading for a while then you probably know Zack lost his job in January 2009. A few weeks ago last year our lives changed drastically. Then, I lost my job in February. Then Zack lost another job in June, the day we were leaving for our one year wedding anniversary trip.

For seven months we were unemployed, feverishly looking for work in Michigan. Not once in seven months did we miss a bill and not once were we late on a payment. I strongly believe this is because we prayed hard, cried a lot {OK, I cried a lot}, and were real with our difficult situation.

Most importantly it’s because we trusted in God. We pushed through it, persevered. At the time I didn’t think we’d make it though… but don’t we always make it through?!

Look at us today. We did make it through the first half of 2009, despite our doubts. We had to sacrifice to make it, but we made it.

I pray that no matter what your situation is you’ll find at least one thing to be thankful for today.

Look at it this way:
If you don’t work hard to make it through then you won’t know the opportunities tomorrow will bring.

Live for today so you can reap what you’ve sacrificed, what you’ve worked hard for.

YEOW! This turned into a sappy post fast!
