{day 1 of 7: my personal challenge}

July 28, 2011 · 28 Comments

Last night I posted about my personal challenge and now today I’m here with a report from Day 1: SUCCESS! I went to bed a teeny bit late, but woke up on time, have had ZERO pop today, and I styled my hair in a new way {see above}. But wait, there’s more :] Last night at the grocery store I picked up tons of fresh fruit, veggies, cheeses, nuts, lean meat, healthy [?] crackers — so my food intake today has been a thumbs up. I’m so proud of myself!

Many of you said you’d participate too, so did you?

Don’t let yourself down.

The last part of my challenge is to take a beautiful photo every day, so the photo to the above right is my picture for Day 1: on our dresser sits a pretty tea pot, my wedding bouquet and my tiara from our wedding. Beauty, it’s seriously everywhere!

Love the hair girl! I think you should try it totally straight one day! :) I am jealous tho because my hair just doesn’t cooperate as nicely as yours appears to! haha!
And you’re right….beauty is everywhere (my exact philosophy on my photography blog!)

I love the new hairstyle! Shall I be the first to say that we will need a video tutorial of that one too? :)

Your hair looks cute. Have you read One thousand gifts by Ann Voskamp? What you’re doing seems to jive with her overall message.

    Hi Gussy!

SO nice to meet you! What a fabulous breath of fresh air you are! And neighbors! lol… I live in Mound, MN, and I found your site because my friend Michele Bergh said that I should check out your site. Do you know her or something? You are just a peach. I am a big goalsy person too and I totally get the value of self-promises, so I will try to do this but I am not making any promises just yet. I love your challenge though. LOVE it! I actually do a lot with my goals. I am 43, so I have “Before I Turn 50” Goals and then I break those down into the years. Not all so serious as it sounds, but I will tell you this! I started doing tai chi every day and eating better and meditating every day about a month ago and I am super more productive this month even though my “time” is less because I am doing all those things! Anyways, LOVE your site. I will surely be a neighbor here as well!

    Gussy,

Have you met Jamie Ridler? She is also a great marketer and might be a good match for the type of projects you are doing. You may want to connect with her. Her website is http://jamieridlerstudios.ca – she is a doll just like you!

So…I didn’t have any soda today…but I think that’s because there wasn’t any in the house {yikes}, but tomorrow I’m going two for two.
I got up early this morning instead of just laying there…awake…so that was good and I’m thrilled about that. I feel like my day was productive.
Well, I’m headed to bed so I can do the nightly read and feed….read to myself while I feed the baby…oh, the glam of motherhood :-)

Great job and keep at it!

Hey Gussy girl! I’m loving the hair! :) Seriously! Does this mean there will be another hair styling video? wink!
I’m really proud of you for having healthier goals. I have those as well, they just never seem to get off the ground. Thanks for inspiring me to get going/moving. Have a great weekend!

Such a brilliant day. I’ve had a move around in the house to give me space to create. The spare bedroom has become my sewing room. Yes – there’s still a bed, but it’s tucked away – leaving me loads of space. Just need to find some pretty storage baskets, and a folding table on which to put my cutting board – and there’ll be no stopping me.
I can finally reclaim my dining table, and leave everything out that I’m working on! Whoop whoop.

Hi Gussy! I just read about your self-challenge, and I think it’s a fabulous one…you’ve inspired me! Thought I’d share a post I did this past week about infusing water to make it waaayyyyy more delicious and interesting – it popped into my head right away when I read that you were trying to mainly drink water during the day! Hope it helps to inspire YOU! Here’s the link: http://kristinsveranda.com/vignettes/2011/07/28/infusing-your-water-and-lemonade/

    Hi Gussy!

Really love your posts, but I have a question for you: where did you get that theme (The black with orange writing on the top) that you used on the pictures?

    Thanks!
