{A visit to the Denver Botanic Garden.}

July 29, 2013 · 11 Comments

Last week, Maxwell + I hopped on an airplane and flew to Denver where we met up with my mom for a wedding I was standing in :) My Maid of Honor got married and I was soooooo excited to be a part of her special day. Jessica, you are a gorgeous bride!

Max was an angel baby the entire time, we were gone for 5 days so that was a real highlight ;) We had a super successful flight there [and home] — whew!, and I’m so grateful for all the travel tips you shared with me!

A few other things I’m thankful for…

…a husband who writes amazing, encouraging blog posts!

…this same husband picked me up [literally] yesterday at the airport and gave me the biggest smooch ever! I loved it :) Zack makes me feel so special.

…an afternoon strolling around Denver with my mom. We visited the Denver Botanic Gardens on Saturday — it was a gorgeous day to be outside. By the way, we had the tastiest brunch at Syrup prior to visiting the gardens :) I highly recommend eating there if you’re going to be visiting the area!

…I’m thankful for a happy puppy that greeted me at the door yesterday…

…and a quick cat nap in the afternoon! It felt sooooo good to lay on my bed after four nights in a hotel.

…I’m thankful for all of the positive comments over the new Market Totes we added to the shop last week — y’all definitely blessed me with your feedback/sales. Thank you!!!

…confidence! It is HARD traveling with a baby, and to travel via airplane alone? Oh my goodness. I’m super thankful for the confidence I carried as Max and I traveled from California to Colorado. We make a good team ;) And I’m also thankful for my mom… she was amazingly helpful and is so good at helping me feel confident.

…I’m thankful for how hard Zack works for our family.

…for all the new challenges God is sending Gussy Sews. We are hiring a couple new positions, perhaps you know someone who would be a good addition to our team? [I’d love your prayers on this.]

…for the cutest botanic garden tour guide I know! Maxwell looks darling in his blue hat, dontcha think? :D

Now, where can I hide all of the dirty laundry I brought home? ha, ha!

Happy Monday!

    Hey Gussy!
So glad to hear about your successful trip, what beautiful pics you have to share!

I wanted to know where you are purchasing your v-necks, like the peach one in the final photo. As random as it sounds… I have been buying mine from Old Navy FOREVER. They are a staple in my wardrobe since they are so easy! Sadly, they are now see-through and I am not really diggin’ it. They call them ‘vintage’…hmm?! I am not a fan of wearing a tank under my tee… just too bulky for me.

    Thanks for any info!

@Lu, Oh I know, that bothers me too! I’ve been buying v-necks from Gap or Target lately. The Target ones [orange in last photo] are by Mossimo, I think they’re called a “dressy tee”? :)

Are you looking to hire just locally? I’m not local to you, but thinking I may need to start working part-time. Best of luck!

What a lovely garden! Sounds like you had a wonderful trip :) I’m so glad Max was such a great baby the whole time. You are truly lucky! I think my little girl would have traveled well as a baby, too, but now that she’s walking I’m not so sure :P I think she might just want to rip up and down the aisle the entire flight, lol.

And yes! Your new tote is C.U.T.E!! I hope I can purchase one soon!

OH!! I forgot to ask! Do you have any plans to make the tote in green in the near future?

So pretty! I can’t wait for the weather here in Arizona to cool down so we can start strolling the gardens and zoo here too! :) So glad you were encouraged and have so many things to be thankful for! :)
