The Warmth of Motherhood

Today, she noticed the warmth of motherhood.

The growing up.
The new routines.
The leaning in.
The stepping back.

That special smile.
New muscles gained.
The simple silence.
More joyful noises.

A noticed sunrise.
A release of strong will.
More questions written.
More thanks proclaimed.

The hugs that linger.
The growth that’s invisible.
The silent prayers.
The shouted prayers!

An unexpected verse.
A glimmer of hope, this season of motherhood.
A boost of strength, the source made aware.

Motherhood to five.
Motherhood to nurture
, and motherhood is me.
Christ in me.

♡ I encourage you to meditate on the following verses with motherhood in mind:

Proverbs 14:4,

Where there are no oxen the manger is clean, but abundant crops come by the strength of the ox.

Galatians 6:9,

And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.

Proverbs 14:1,

The wisest of women builds her house, but folly with her own hands tears it down.

Proverbs 4:23,

Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.

Proverbs 16:24,

Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body.

Sooo beautiful. The most important job in the world to the most precious babes in the world!

It really is! It reminds me of the sign you gave me a couple of Christmases ago where “the most important work exists within the walls of this home.”

You make being a mother sound heavenly, which is awesome and so needed in the world we live in.

Thank you, Janet. It’s helpful to have women I can look up to with my mothering, too! ♡
