A time-lapse of our homeschool lesson

Have you ever wondered what our home is like during our school lessons? ;) This is the quiet version.

Here’s a 29 second time lapse of teaching my second grader and first grader. My third child (Marigold) makes an appearance, and my youngest (Landon) is nearby playing. For our curriculum, we have used My Father’s World for three grades. I absolutely love it! It’s the perfect companion to mixing Charlotte Mason, teaching multiple children, learning & applying the Bible.

I can NOT believe this is our third full year homeschooling. It has gone by so fast. When Max, my oldest, was not quite five years old we began with a gentle pre-K curriculum in anticipation of our fourth child being born in June 2018. That fall, just a few of months later, we started with Kindergarten. And now my oldest is halfway through second grade. How in the world?! This has been a wonderful opportunity to spend so much intentional time with my children, teach them about Biblical principles and allow them to enjoy their childhood.

What can be hard about homeschooling? Managing multiple conversations at one time ;) Pulling children back to the table from simple household distractions (the mailman! the neighbor! the dog looks cute! Dad walked into the kitchen!). Remembering it’s not my agenda, but His.

Some extra resources I have gleaned wisdom from:

+The Mission of Motherhood

+ The Call of the Wild and Free (perhaps my favorite!)

+Teaching from Rest

+For the Children’s Sake

+ Mere Motherhood (a memoir)

xx, Maggie

I am so grateful to have you. You are so so strong, you’re growing daily, and you’re encouraging that growth in all of your pupils. <3
