Remember how we sold nearly everything we owned, packed up our Jeep, and drove out to California from Minnesota? Yep, that was about a month ago. And ever since we found the perfect apartment to call home, the perfect apartment to bring our baby home in March — complete with honey hardwood floors, fresh paint on the walls, a gorgeous courtyard + big, beautiful windows, I’ve been searching for the perfect things to fill our home.

It’s so important to me our home reflects who we are. That means I want items that have value to us, not just a dollar amount of value, but a tug-on-the heart kind of value. This means they reflect who we are — a creative, supportive, faith-driven family. They are full of color + texture. We are limiting what we are bringing in from the world since that will only clutter up what we’re able to bring out to the world.

Today’s post is sponsored by the ever-so-lovely World Market. Together we’ll be infusing World Market products into our living room while maintaining the values of our family, just like I shared with you here. I can’t wait to get started… so much that I am turning decorating our living room into a 2-part series.

First I’ll be sharing some World Market finds that have caught my big blue eyes. Then next week I’ll be sharing which items I purchased + how we incorporate them into our home. World Market has so many beautiful, eclectic items. It was pure joy to “window shop” their store knowing I’ll be back soon to gather up what I can’t live without.

^ Zack + I love the challenge of incorporating masculinity with femininity and this basketwork lamp does it so well!

^ I circled the entire store to make sure I wasn’t missing anything for our living room, ya know — maybe there would be a secret shelf filled with the cutest owls, squirrels + fall-colored candles. And I was right! Look what I found? I must bring home a pair of ceramic owls next week :) To sit on our bookshelf. And be super cute together.

^ Another item I found that mixes masculinity + femininity is this vase. I absolutely LOVE the simplistic floral pattern, the olive green color, and the material they are shaped from {see a similar vase here}. Perhaps I’ll snag one next week, too?

^ World Market does a fabulous job with their pillow collection. Really, there are a couple dozen styles/colors/patterns/textures to choose from — where do I even begin? We have a gray linen couch in our living room and my hands can’t stay off the orange + mustard pillows. Ha!

^ One of our favorite places to shop for furniture is la internet. Adding unique knobs to the pieces we find makes it that much sweeter of a find, because just LOOK at the knob collection World Market has! Is that an antique brass owl knob? Eenie meenie miney mo…

^ {whistles} Hellooooo, Miss Color Burst Tango wall canvas! How super fun would this be to hang over our couch? And I bet it would look great over your couch, too ;)

Stay tuned next week for my big living room reveal via World Market pretties. I cannot wait to put our new Los Angeles living room together!!! Moving 2,000 miles has been so life-changing for us. It hurt to sell + give away so many things we loved but we did it for a greater good: to pursue our passions in life. {Doing so also taught Zack + I to not get attached to worldy things.} And World Market, you are lucky — you get to be a part of our re-decorating journey :)

You have the worst taste. None of that goes together and you are probably getting paid to shop their store or getting free furniture. What a shame. A style expert you are not.
