On Thanksgiving day, we drove about 3 hours north of Minneapolis to visit family overnight. We drove over the Mississippi River at one point, through lots of fields, saw lots of farm animals {I’m such a city girl, lol}, saw lots of trains…

It was so fun to get out of the city and take a little break from our day-to-day routine. It was sooooooo chilly Thursday — and by chilly I mean 2 degrees outside ;] But the drive went by super fast — we talked the entire time, like usual. Hah! Little Bauer shivered each time he went outside. I should have sewed him some boots & a jacket.

Thanksgiving day was filled with lots of laughter, playing with Bauer, yummy food, talking and coziness ♥. And I’m so proud of myself, I didn’t eat too much {I even saved room for my Peanut Butter Pie}.

Thursday night we were so tired, all three of us, that at 10:30pm we were all tucked in bed. Talk about ridiculous! ;] I remember falling asleep to the heat running, Bauer snoozin’ in his crate, and noticing how dark it is outside when you live in the country…

Friday morning we woke up and the power had gone out, so we got dressed and headed back to the city. Zack joked about all the things we had to pack because Bauer was with us, but it was so worth it! He is such a good puppy and makes the cutest sound when he yawns. He is totally our dog child ;]

Also — Bauer turned into a little reindeer while we were away:

Did you travel for Thanksgiving? With with us a fun memory from your day :]

Oh, how sweet. Bauer is just adorable! Your new header looks great too.
We also spent our Thanksgiving in the country visiting family, but we were able to stay for 4 days- a mini-getaway. The quiet of the country is one of my favorite things and when it’s warm enough to stand outside at night, the night sky is so much more awe inspiring. A special treat for all those hours in the car!
