Our pastor is preaching a series on doctrine. He covered reasons why The Bible really is God’s word. He had some very compelling arguments this morning.
What a great photo to post along! Today during our Sunday worship, my husband and I volunteered to help watch one of the Preschool classes. They CRACK me up with the way they answer all of our questions (usually with a “Jesus”…or a “in church”… or “the Bible”) But we definitely discussed about the disciples, and about how even as “children” we are called to follow!
I learned about the difference between trusting in God and chasing the American dream. We can try and live out our own plans and be self sufficient, but we will only end up getting burnt out and worried and living for ourselves. God knows our need, and he provides. It was a simple and fundamental message yet powerful and a good reminder to keep it simple and live for Jesus.
Matthew 5:25-26, “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?”
I conducted Children’s Church today and we discussed how God created the Earth and light – how amazing that is when you really think about it! That in itself is comforting…if God can just “create an Earth” then surely He can help me get through some of my stupid escapades! :)
By the way, my pastor – a fabulous country preacher at my little Southern Baptist church calls his Jonah sermon the Whale Puke sermon! LOL He is a hoot – I had never thought of that story as being a parable, I think it probably did really happen. Have a great week!!!

Umm, we won’t talk about Sunday morning…
But I will tell you I ate at a fabulous restaurant on Friday night and guess what it was called – Jonah’s Fish & Grits. Oh yeah :)
