{How to get your handmade products in the hands of celebrities.}

Today, I am sharing with you some serious grow your biz advice and I am so excited because I truly am so passionate about helping the handmade community.

I’ve been in interviewing and working with celebrities since I started cupcakeMAG — five years ago. We’ve built an amazing celebrity fan base and I am blessed to have the support of Tori Spelling, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian, Bethenny Frankel, Jessica Simpson, Jessica Alba and oh-my-gosh does the list go on. I can truly thank the success of cupcakeMAG to our celeb fan base. Which is why I feel so passionate about celeb gifting. I mean, when you get a testimonial like this — how can you not adore them?

I love cupcakeMAG! I enjoy working with them every chance I get. It is such a fun site and I am a big fan! After all, that is why I choose Editor + Founder Casi as a Momprenuer of the Month on ediTORIal – she rocks! — Tori Spelling | celebrity | ToriSpelling.com

About a year ago, cupcakeMAG started offering exclusive celeb gifting services. We work closely with the publicists and celebs team — sometimes even the celebrity themselves, to get the gifts directly in their hands. We work hard to follow-up, get some feedback, a hand-written thank you and are constantly stalking websites, magazines, etc. for a snapshot of the celebrity with the product. So far we’ve been tremendously successful. Almost always a thank you is received, a shout-out on social media and if you’re lucky enough a spread in a weekly. We’ve been lucky at times to even hand deliver giftings too. We have personal relationships with the celebrities, assistants and publicists which makes the service budget-friendly for almost any small company to afford.

Why do I think celebrity gifting is important for small business? It can change your business forever. One of our clients sent a headband to Suri Cruise who in turn was spotted wearing the headband in People, Life and Style and Us Magazine — 5 different times. Another gift sent was featured in a separate editorial as a “must-have celebrity item”. The possibilities are endless. All it takes is some really great press for your business to start really booming and take you to the next level. Celebrities are in the public eye constantly so who wouldn’t love spotting their product on their favorite celebrity? The goal for celebrity gifting is to either get the photo of the celebrity wearing or using your product or of course to get a written testimonial that you can use on your website — the perfect marketing material.

I’ve worked with many small business owners and one of the most asked questions I get is, does my product work for celebrity gifting? I feel that most apparel, jewelry, handbags, accessories, baby products, toys, and really any handmade/unique items work best for celeb gifting. Surprisingly — even things that aren’t photographed, like organic soap or handmade candles, for example, the celebrity can still write a testimonial and gain press — you may even get a mention in an interview. Gifting a celebrity gives you a chance to build buzz about your company and brand and will almost always increase sales.

When you are a small business or an entrepreneur {like myself} you’re constantly trying to manage at all so you can maximize time with family.

Celeb gifting…

  • is a great way to advertise your business
  • gives you chance to share your product + your story with your favorite celebrity
  • a chance to really make your business grow and share it with the world.

We provide the celeb outreach and product placement to small handmade business to help get the buzz going about the company you’ve built. Working from your dining room, or loosing sleep will finally pay off. Sending gifts will strengthen your brand, ultimately increase sales and really bring awareness — our celeb gifting strategy has been such a success — some companies online sales have increased 5X. Anyone can make their product buzz-worthy and getting it the hands of that star on the cover of People is totally worth it. I love getting emails saying, “We just received a thank you” or “So excited! I just got an email from Bethenny Frankel assistant’s for the gift I sent.” I love being able to help small businesses and support others. Sometimes, you just need a little celeb love to make your business grow and it’s worth every penny!

Ready to see your product in the hands of some of our favorite celebs? We are working on the latest + greatest celeb giftings and would love to help you grow. All Gussy Sews readers will receive a discount on celeb giftings, just mention this post to us. You can see testimonials on cupcakeMAG and read all about it too! Of course, I am happy to answer any questions you have — I am always here to help you through the process and take your Etsy shop, or small biz to get the accomplishment it deserves.

      I’m sorry the last sentence sounds a little complicated. Darn phone screens. I couldn’t see the entire sentence. What I meant to say what can you guide me to who you think would be a good fit for my products? Thanks
