{Patina — a Minneapolis shop}

July 6, 2011 · 25 Comments

There’s a darling boutique in town called Patina, and every time I visit I fall in love more & more. It’s definitely one that all the locals know about. I’d say five people referred me to the shop before I finally went in :] Boy… I should have gone in sooner! Inside you’ll find adorable {and even unique} gifts for gals, guys, babies. And the best part — some of the gift ideas are handmade locally! *love*

Browsing the pretty displays they set up is one of my favorite things to do when I visit. Books, vases, wall art, lotions pillows ~ such a fun collection in this GREEN-inspired display.

I have to be careful when I find cute things for babies… I don’t want anyone getting their hopes up ;] Tee hehe. EVEN THOUGH PATINA HAS THE SWEETEST FINDS ♥… That book up there, Porn for New Moms, is seriously hilarious. There’s also a book for women, with silly sayings like, As soon as I finish the laundry, I’ll do the grocery shopping. And I’ll take the kids with me so I can relax. Hah! yes.

Zack is THE perfect hubby, and he’s alllll mine! :] He will chat with me, shop with me — until the sun goes down! A fun husband = a happy wife. See? [look up]

One of my favorite colors right now is robin’s egg blue. I’m loving it in that bamboo lantern {just to the right from the center of the above photo}. Patina is F U L L of pretty things to look at, and the super tall ceilings make it easy on the eyes.

Want to visit? They have a handful of locations, but yesterday we were at UPTOWN/KENWOOD: 1009 W Franklin Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55405 * www.patinastores.com

    Ahhh, love it!
    And feeling thankful for my fun husband too. That man will even go with me to Forever 21 on date night … if that isn’t true love I don’t know what is?!? :). He would much rather a fun shop like Patina!
    If my BFF was getting me a present … she would get me something she knew I would love. A new creative book or a book on my book list (she knows I love books), fabric, a sweet nic-nac or piece of jewelry. Really she knows me well so it’s always going to be good. Lucky me … I get to see her in just a few days!!

    Happy Day Mags!

    Such a pretty store!

    My BFF’s would give me crafting supplies! On my last birthday I was gifted with handmade rubber stamps, squares of fabric and a couple hanks of yarn. So very sweet. :)

    Aaaahhh! I knew from the pic on your last post the cute shop just had to be Patina! I fell in love with Patina my freshman year because there was one conveniently located a few blocks from my alma mater, St. Kate’s. Almost all the gifts I purchased for people during my college years was from that store. Now that my big sis lives just a few blocks away from one I can count on at least part of all my birthday gifts coming from Patina, by far one of the best gift shops in the cities.

    Jealous! I would LOVE to have a shop like that around me.

    Let’s see, if my BFF was buying anything for me, it would most certainly have something to do with adventure, books or coffee. Yup.

    What a great shop! I’d be in there for hours!

    O.K., I have to share a funny story in answer to your question about what my BFF would get my for a gift. A couple of years ago my BFF bought me Tupperware! And I was thrilled! My kids just didn’t get it, but one of my girls said, “You know what’s great? That Miss Amy actually KNEW that you needed Tupperware and that you WANTED Tupperware and that she went out and got it for you.” Oh yes, my BFF knows me so well. :)

    LOVE Patina. If you haven’t been there yet, check out another cute shop called Corazon on E Lake St. It’s right before the river, where Lake St turns into Marshall Ave.
