{I woke to a Winter Wonderland.}

November 14, 2010 · 24 Comments

It’s like a real Winter Wonderland here in Minneapolis. Apparently we received 10-12 inches of snow yesterday. Ohhh yeah — I ♥ snow :] Finally, a reason to wear my knitted mittens & cowl.

Yesterday I drove Zack to the airport at 4am. He had a 6am flight to Michigan to surprise his dad with opening day of hunting season. {I don’t even know if I worded that correctly… I am not an experienced hunting wife. (By my choice.)} I kissed my man goodbye and I drove away from the airport. Back to bed for me!

When I woke up, a few hours later, I SAW SNOW! Lots of snow!

Rumor has it, by the way, that my father-in-law was speechless when he saw Zack, which is sooo amazing :]

Yesterday was Bauer’s first experience with winter/snow, and he LOVED it! I about died four times as he bunny-hopped across the yard. Poor pup needs longer legs ;] Once I had showered, we went on a walk and he wagged his little tail the entire time. I was such a proud puppy mama…

It’s just be and Bau-wow until Tuesday night when we’ll drive to the airport and pick up Zack, and already Bauer knows something isn’t “normal” around here. A few times I caught him sitting on the rug at the front door, waiting for Zack to walk through. {Zack, he misses you!!!}

Bauer and I spent a lot of time together being cozy at home. It was so nice to play with him and not have work/sewing in the back of my mind. Bauer loved to chase his tracks in the snow. He was constantly dipping his head into it, eating it… Prancing around like a Prince.

Then he barked at me. Then he zonked out.

Today I’m meeting some friends for a Gussy/Minneapolis meet-up at a local cafe. And guess what? They have cupcakes! :] I’m so getting one!

What are you doing today? / What is your favorite dessert?

    It’s a beautiful winter wonderland. That means snow can’t be far behind here in northern Illinois. Get with it girl, you need to learn how to field dress a deer!! Then you can be a good hunting wife. HA.

    OOOhhh, I cant wait for snow! Well, let me re-phrase that: I love snow but it can wait until we get home from Disney so we dont have any “hairy” flights! I feel like a crazy lady here packing and prepping for our first huge family vacation. There are 7 of us going together!
    I love your doggy. Looks like he’s very good company:)
    Oh and a favorite dessert? I dont have just one. But hubby just made a Mickey Mouse Apple Pie to commemorate our trip. We’ll be having it at an early family Thanksgiving dinner this week. Its adorable!

    We live in West Michigan. Wondering if we’ll be getting that snow next… Which part of MI does Zack hunt? My hubbie will be driving to his grandpa’s farm over in the thumb in hunt. It’s a big tradition among the men every year. It doesn’t sound as fun for me to go now that we have a child. I’ll just be hanging out with my mother-in-law and all my sewing projects! Fun! :)

    oh now you didn’t mention in your tweet that you had a snowy day and a quiet weekend with bauer all to yourself!!! I would have stayed in my pjs and snuggled with bauer all day long. his cute puppy paws are too sweet to resist:)
    I got a new camera this weekend and although I am IN LOVE with it, I am trying to figure out how to get the photos from the photo card on to my mac. :/

    Wow! What beautiful snowy scenery you have to enjoy! I’m a little jealous, though I’m sure it won’t be too much longer till we have snow here in NW PA. (Actually it’s been unseasonably warm here, so I know we’re over due!)
